Default Padded console ?

So I think the stock console cover is both cheap looking and feeling and not very padded. Who has replaced theirs with the GM one that is supposed to be covered in real leather with the crossed flags emblem.

Is it any softer and how is the quality of the leather? Or should I go with someone like DSVettes?

I'm not familiar with the one from GM. I do have one of DSVettes and love it. Your forearm and elbow with thank you.

I have the DSVettes one too - awesome product.

Just a word of advice - If you opt for a logo on the console, it will irritate your arm if you drive in short sleeves with your arm on the console.

DSvettes is the best IMO and the C6 logo does not irritate your arm. LMAO

I know 3 different guys that have had logo'd console covers, and have swapperd them due to the threading rubbing on the inside of their arm.

They were all manual trans, if that makes a difference.

I added the console 2 tone cover that is well padded and has really good fitment.

I have the GM with Flags and it is definitely an improvement. I drove to Florida with the stock one and it ate my arm up. The GM is not padded all that well but the leather is smooth rather than textured like the OEM was.
I haven't driven mine on any long trips since installing the GM but I have been 100 miles from home with it and no problems.
FTR, I am 6-2 and drive with my seat all the way back. I have no problems with the cross flags because my elbow/arm hits the console in back of the flags. If you drive with your seat forward, I can see where the flags might be troublesome. But the GM works fine for me. YMMV

I got this console cover from Corvette Mods because I like how the pleats in it match the seats.

Short answer: don't hesitate. Go with DSV padded console lid. Period.

Corvette mods ordered/installed last week. I went with the two-tone titanium/ebony, and it is VERY comfortable and looks good to the untrained eye. However, I noticed after installing it the stitching doesn't match my seats (gray seat stitching but black on the cover). They do offer a one-color arm rest with accent stitching, but not a two tone. It is so much more comfortable than my stock console I am willing to sacrifice it, at least for now. In the long term I may contact corvette mods and ask them to make me a custom one to match.

In regards to how noticeable the stitching is: none of my "car guy" friends so far have even noticed I added an after-market console cover, so the stitching is probably only a big deal to me.

I agree, IMHO it should be stitched on in the back of the rest facing the opposite way.

I added cushion, quick installation and love it, compared to the hard cover.
Bought from DSVettes, and here is there link on how quick it takes.

I've seen the corvettemods covers and don't think I like the look of those, so definitely either DSVettes or the GM with flags. I wasn't aware of the issue with the flags irritation, so something else to consider. Is there a big price difference between DSVettes and the approximate $150 GM lid? This is m DD and don't do a lot of long distance driving and it is a slush box, so hopefully that won't matter. I'm also 6'1 so seat is all,the way back.

Don't get the cheap covers, you won't like it.
It's worth the $300 you'll spend, but it looks factory.

I have the GM one with the emblem and it is not much better than the stock one, I would not get it if you are looking for more padding.
