Default Paint Chips?

Just curious.

Do all of you find that because these cars sit so low that they are prone to chips on the hood? Every time I drive it I find a new chip. I have cleartastic on the front bumper but the hood seems to be a magnet for rocks.

Thanks for the feedback.

Yes absolutely, right at the hood rise on my car. I just had full stripes put on last week and have been driving to work regularly as the weather has finally broke. Both vinyl stripes have small rock chips already, and they aren't bubbles that broke from installation.

I think it must vary my where you live, and type of tires, because I have over 42k miles on mine, and the only chip I've gotten is where I bounced a robin off the hood while traveling to WV. His claw made a chip on the edge of the hood.

I had washed it this past weekend, and I didn't have any chips at the rear brake vents either.

The roads here in MI so bad after the winter this year that rock chips are almost a guarantee and the minor stuff. The big stuff is golf ball size rocks thrown up by the trucks and pot-holes 20" deep.

I have to agree...I live in south Florida, and have 4,200 miles on my '13 GS.

Approx. 1,400 of those miles were done at 70 mph.

Yet, I do not have a single chip anywhere. As you can see, I do not have front wheel splash shields either.

Have to agree with others depends on where you live, I have no paint chips on the hood or front of the car. A bit also depends on your driving habits like not tailgating, not following behind any trucks if possible. For a good do it yourself repair on these chips check out drcolorchip.

Have you actually used this product?

I've never used it myself, but gotta say that the first video here is certainly very impressive!

I'd like to hear from anyone who has purchased the "Squirt & Squeegee" kit, and get their opinion.

I have used drcolorchip on my SUV and it does a nice job. Color match is good, you just need to follow the directions.
