Key FOB Question
I own a 2006 Vette
If I take out the battery of my extra key FOB and hide it in the trunk, will the key FOB loose its programing?
I don’t want to store my spare Key FOB with a battery in the trunk subject to weather extremes.

Once my wife had to drive a spare key a distance to rescue me as I don't have On-Star.

I left the battery in my hidden fob, but wrapped the unit in aluminum foil. That way, we wouldn't need to mess with the glove box slot, and could also give the extra fob to someone if we had a temporary third driver. Extensive testing shows that the foil completely disables the fob. I replace that battery every three years, still good when replaced.
Either method will serve you well.
