Might have. 2013 Black Z06. Had my regular guy remove the pre-cut kit and re-did everything.

A lot of custom installers have a hard time with kits because they actually have to make the material fit perfectly where as custom cutting they stretch a large piece and cut everything by hand. MOST custom installers cut the paint up. You just don't know it because the cuts are along the film lines.... so unless you remove it you wont know its cut. I have done both types of installs and both are very different. A good precut kits with wrapped edges is just as good as a custom cut. its all coming out of the same material.

By the way who is your guy? I am pretty sure I have been out to your place before... if you are who I think you are.

Well, I had mine installed at ClearPro this past Saturday. They had a precut kit that they then trimmed down to make it fit perfectly. Yesterday I did notice a couple of bubbles. When I contacted ClearPro, Lance the owner set up a date the next day (today) to fix the problem areas. They came to my house and not only removed the bubbles but reinstalled a couple of pieces on the mirrors. It really looks good. If you are on the fence about pulling the trigger on a clear bra...DO IT! I appreciate the work ClearPro did.

A new black Z06. Very nice. I knew you had a beautiful Mustang... and the nicest/biggest garage I have ever seen. I think you still have room for 2-3 more cars and a couple of more motorcycles.

Good to hear it's done. I had the same issue, a few bubbles here and there. They told me it would happen anyway, had some minor ones a few days later, called and brought the car over and all taken care of. Lance and his crew are great people.

Having mine done tomorrow. Expel Ultimate. Bumper, healights, partial hood (bikini cut), rockers, area in front of the rear wheels (the absolute most prone areas on 427 for rock chips) and mirrors. I believe it is like 4 separate "kits" although my guy cuts on a plotter. Several guys I already spoke with have used this installer and HIGHLY recommend him. He has personally been doing clear bras for 10+ years.
We all need protection for these cars because as I've learned these massive tires love to throw rocks and gravel.
I'll post some pics upon completion mid week.

Get a professional to do it. I've had it done twice by same guy. He does it for a living. Very meticulous. I have seen other cars he has done. He has the machine and software to make the perfect cuts for your car. He has already gotten past the learning curve of how to stretch it to fit without wrinkles (but not stretch too far). I often look for ways to save a few bucks and am fairly handy. But for a few hundred extra dollars getting a professional to do it was a no-brainer for me.

Enjoy...Mark

I did my own pre-cut Clear Bra install a few years ago.
But, as others have mentioned, it's Definitely not easy and takes a loooong time to do it and do it right.
You need a real clean environment, paint needs to be cleaned of all wax and polish etc and then totally dry and clean.
And most of all, you need lots and lots of patience
Mine came out just OK and I'm happy with it because it serves it's purpose and saved the paint numerous times since putting it on.
Most people don't know it's there ... but I ended up with lots of imperfections.
Everything from small bubbles that never went away, to small cloudy spots here and there.
It did get better and the imperfections were less noticeable over the next week or two after the film settled.

It took me a total of about 12 hours over 2 days and learned a lot about how it should be done.
BUT, .. I don't feel I could do it any better if I had to do it again and will have it done Professionally next time.

So if you're looking for a perfect job, then find a good installer and spend the money.
It's well worth it IMO

Doug
The installer removed mine half way thru and started over because he didn't like the way it was coming out. Another reason I wouldn't attempt it myself. It's going on 8 years and it still looks perfect.
