I have the LSB 05 vert and love the car. LS3 or above would be fine as well but I bought an essentially new car (less than 14k miles) for much less than half of the original price. What a deal for a garage queen! Lot's of them for sale out there. I don't like overpaying for things.

based on your revised comments, it sounds like you like the looks of the C5, so I'd tell you to get a 2004 Z06. The top won't come off, but it's manual, you'll have the last year of the C5, and 405 HP. It should be cheaper than a 2008+ year model that has the 3LT.

C5 or C6
Yeah, I've given thought to both. I do like the looks of the 5 a little better, except for the headlights which can be changed without hurting the car. On the other hand I like the improvements on the 08 and up C6. I am shopping both and will decide on the car that gives me that feeling when I see it. I will agree with some minor updates the 04 Z06 is probably close. to the C6.
