Those have been my thoughts for the past half-century also.
The C3s were great, I had a '72 but I didn't like them AT ALL after that with the friggin' rubber bumpers. It was like they took a car designed with chrome bumpers, then just removed the bumpers.
The 4s were boring; looked too much like a Camaro/Firebird. There was no instant "That's a Corvette," from any angle.
The 6s always looked good to me; I liked that they brought back the exposed headlights. It was cool in '63, but it had run its course IMO.
When I saw the C7 last year I thought very seriously about buying one (I emailed a local Chevy dealer last fall, inquiring about them, and they never returned my email, lol. I guess they were not interested in selling new Vettes.)
So I pondered it over and by mid-winter decided to buy a C6 instead. Now, I like its looks as well (if not better) than the C7 and it was half price. I've put about 1200 miles on it (2007 3LT) and no regrets.
I have always thought the rear end of a C6 was as good as this, which the C7 can't hold a candle to:
Okay... If that's the new look of the C7 rear... It has officially grown on me... actually... I'll take 5.
I like the c7 but probably won't buy one until I can afford the z06. I assume they'll make a "grand sport" due to the success of the c6 gs and the huge gap between the base model and the z06. I might settle for a c7 "grandsport", but I don't think I can buy another narrow body.

I love the C6 and the C7. The more I see the C7 the more I love it.
I agree, in a few years when the HP goes up in the base C7 and all the bugs are worked out I plan on buying one or if the checkbook can afford it, a Z07.

Just for grins I went to that car sight that promises to get you a great deal on a new car....the one advertised on TV all the time. Looked up C7 2lt.....they had 17 dealerships willing to sell me one for $2800 above MSRP.
Will own one someday if they start to discount them like they did the C6. Will look great next to my C6.

Maybe? I'm not a marketing expert, but it sends little red flag vibes to me. Seems kind of sketch, and I don't like dealing with people who aren't on the up-and-up.
May be a simple 0 missing, but weird, nonetheless.

Wow, really? A simple click on the Learn More tab and you will see the rest of the VIN
For example, the first one listed from the link provided only shows 1G1YA3D76E51284.. on the listings page. Click on the Learn More tab and the rest of the VIN shows up. 1G1YA3D76E5128464
I don't think anyone here is bashing them, just posting their thoughts on what they like and dislike about them. I have things about my C6 that I don't care for same as the C7 but don't hate either and am happy for those that own and love their C7.
Relax. Take a deep breath. Let it out slowly. It's going to be alright.
Just seems, like clockwork, that somebody posts about how much they dislike the C7 and how the C6 looks better. There must have been dozens of threads like this one so far since its introduction. If ever this was appropriate, it's appropriate here. Same C7 criticism, different day.
Why not post this over in the C7 section since that is the focus of your thread?
Wow, got midol? I guess you need to go out and stare at the *** of your c7...This was a very mild thread until you had to bring this into play over and over.
@ PMD C6: Like I said, I'm not a marketing expert. Why wouldn't they just list the real VIN up front? Why the extra layer? It's probably not a big deal on a new car, but I just spent the last month looking at used Minis, and I can tell you, I didn't look past the first layer if the listing was the least bit off.

For the record, I'm the very proud owner of a C6 and you do not dictate who says what about anything posted here in C6 discussion. It's a public forum and everyone has the right to express an opinion on whether or not a thread is too repetitive like this one is.
You only make yourself look small and simple-minded when you hurl those asinine grade school insults around and in spite of your little tantrum above, I think you're better than that.
I like the C7 and plan on a C7Z after the 1st year issues are discovered and remedied. I will keep my 2007 because I'm rather fond of it-- it was, after all, my first Corvette. I hope my daughter appreciates it like I have. Time will tell because she's only 9 now, but she does love it so far. I think it'll make a fine graduation present.
I like them both. I took my friend's 2014 convertible for a spin. My overall impression was that they got the interior right. It's a polished version of the C6, the information screens are very nice and the stereo sound is 1000% better than C6. The ride is more precise but with the top down, I didn't feel like I was driving a car that was head over heals different than my 2007 convertible. If I wouldn't have to come up with about a $50,000 difference for the C7, I would very much like to own it, however do I feel like I am driving a car worth $50,000 less? Absolutely not. I still love the looks of my C6 and could drive it as long as it makes sense to maintain it. (I just hit the 100,000 mile mark last week) :o)
