Finally got my C6 widebody and there's no way I could ever go back. I fully anticipate buying a C7 Z06 but with all the issues of the first year C7 base, I may have to wait a bit. C7: worst Corvette paint since the C3, and the Z06 front end looks like it was a failed JC Whitney experiment.

I'm very happy driving this until GM gets their act together:

The C7 impressed me so much I called up my dealer and had him find me a new GS while I could still get the one I wanted. Parts of the C7 look good but from the b pillar area back it does nothing for me. I remember the C4, C5 and C6 coming out (1 yr old when the C3 came out) and when I saw my first C6 I immediately told my wife they got it right this time. I fell in love with the C3 and I wasn't that excited until the C6 came around. I like the C4s and 5s but I think they looked a little too close to the Camaros from the same era that it just didn't do much for me. At least the C7 doesn't look like the new Camaro...wait, nevermind. I might have to wait until the C8 to get my museum delivery Corvette. Never say never but unless something big changes on the current platform I have no plans to get a C7. I DD drove a 87 IROC Camaro for the better part of 20 years so can make my cars last if I like them. I'm 46 so I'm kinda in the middle of the old/young thing.

I wasn't going to post in this thread until the posts got me thinking. I saw a post somewhere with a Ferrari following a C7 racing somewhere. I had to look twice because I thought the Red car (the Ferrari) was a C7. I don't usually pay attention to such things, just don't have an artist gene. The C7 looks like a new Italian creation, to me and as a past owner of a 1960 Alfa, a definite back slide. I like the smoother lines of the C6, even more so since it is paid for. call me

From the picture above the side view of the C6 & C7 look almost the same from that distance.

Will own one someday if they start to discount them like they did the C6. Will look great next to my C6.
The '14's are already being discounted in some places.3 grand at LES STANFORD in the magazine I get.

instant good mood for a Sunday morning!!!

The C7 looks better in person to me but as has been said,It was not love at first site as it was with me and the c6.Don't hate the C7 anymore, but don't care for it enough to spend 75 grand or 65 or anything for that matter on it either. Could car less about the pinball machine dash,I happen to like the C4 digital dash myself. I pulled up next to one at a dealership and my GS was lower and smaller...at least it appeared that way to me.No matter how hard they try,the C7 ain't no Ferrari!Again,I could care less about the "oh well you save 4 billion ..blah blah." It's a Chevy,I better save 4 billion! The only real advantage i see to this and Ferrari is I have as much power and sometimes more then they do and my tune ups don't cost me 10 grand! The whole package of the C7 looks better on the outside as a whole from the side to me and the steering wheel is already starting to look cheap and dated on that car, they should have consulted with DSVETTES on that ...so in the end,i'm keeping my GS for a long time!

Best way I can put this is a little story.

I used to play a game while I was cycling and at a traffic light waiting.

I would give myself a choice of any car that drove by. I would limit it to say 20 cars and have to pick one as it came by, not knowing what might appear next.

Being in Silicon Valley I would see lots of top end desirable autos.

I just realized yesterday, while sitting at a light that I haven't played this mind game since owning my 08 C6.

I guess this pretty much sums up my situation as being content with the C6.

Nice feeling being content and not looking over the fence for greener pastures.

Disclaimer...ya I would like the power increase but the C7 is ugly and just doesn't appeal to me. Hay others can enjoy the c7 to their hearts content, I just would not be picking it out of the cars passing by.

Well maybe if it was number 19 out of a 20 limit car choice....honest as I can be and no sour grapes as proven by my story.

I never get mad on the internet forums..I do enjoy irony though so thanks for that....

The next time you see a thread you don't like, well its free to move on....Otherwise you can keep whining like a little girl that others like to express themselves about the c7 in the C6 forums a little more than you happen to like.

I'm pretty sure we've not reached the apex of expressing opinions of the c7 quite yet.

Just kidding. It's a random pik off the internet somewhere. Looking at such things is a life-long obsession I've had.

Anything new in the auto world is going to be controversial.
Especially when GM finally makes a new model after 9 Years of the C6 model !
Also considering the fact that the C5 came out 7 Years before the C6 we now had two models that are very similar all things considered.
I liked the C5 when it came out but liked the C6 a whole lot more.
IMO the C5 and C6 may be similar, but, the C6 is a lot more car than the C5.
Again, that is just my opinion and not saying the C5 is not a great car.

Let’s face it, the C6 is 9 years old and except for yearly upgrades and improvements there was nothing substantial done to it aside from the Z06, ZR1 and GS models.
I personally wanted to see the C6 headlights upgraded at some point, not so much with the way they look, even though I never liked the way they look, but upgraded with new headlight Technology that’s been around for over 5 Years like a lot of other GM vehicles.

I want a C7 once used C7’s are available from the 3rd or 4th model year.
I personally like the so called base/narrow body C7 just the way it is.
I think it looks like a wide body without the bigger tires etc.

As far as what the C7 looks like,.. that will always be each persons Opinion of what looks good to them.
Everyone is different.
I just don’t buy into the heritage thing and I’m not hung up on “ what a Corvette should look like “ ..

I think it’s safe to say, .. or maybe not .. every new Corvette generation since the beginning has been Very different in appearance from the previous model except for the C5 & C6.
By the time the C6 was getting long in the tooth after 9 years, many couldn’t wait for something new.
Well now we have the C7 and after 18 Months of it being unveiled, and thousands on the road with new owners, some are still not seeing what it is about.
Not saying everyone has to like the way it looks or even like it at all,..
That is not the point.

To me it’s all about 9 Years of advancement in Technology, Handling and Performance, Finally all put into a new Corvette and that it will only get better moving forward.

Don’t get me wrong, I still love how my C6 looks and drives and can’t wait to drive it every chance I get, but I really like the C7 and will get one at some point

I have thought the same thing which is why I am more interested in what they do with the Z06 in the next few years. I was going to buy one but have since decided to wait it out.
