My Mom could use your help. Last Friday she was told that she has Stage 3 Ovarian cancer. Today she will begin the first treatment of Chemo that is expected to last for 8 weeks and then if possible, surgery.
I know the power of the Forum, so please keep her in your prayers.
Positive thoughts for you and your family. Just lost my mother in law (and my mother's best friend) last week after a four month nightmare. After 32 years of marriage she was just like my mom. Like posted above, stay positive and don't give her anything else to worry about other than her recovery. Mom's will worry more about us than their own health. Good luck.

Ain't that the truth... I remember a week before Mom died in hospice I cut my finger doing something stupid in our garage and should have gotten stitches but I didn't and mom noticed it and was concerned about it and in her weakened state called in the hospice nurse to be sure when the doctor came to visit that she could check my finger so I wouldn't get an infection.
Here is this frail woman who was on oxygen to help her breath, too weak to get out of bed any longer, had way more things to worry about than me but was more concerned over my dumb finger than her own situation. She wouldn't even let the hospice nurse take her vitals until the nurse brought the doctor to her room to look at my finger. The doctor came in and said I should get it looked at and she pulled the oxygen mask off her mouth and said "your a doctor aren't you.... look at it". The doctor just smiled, looked at my finger very graciously, took me across the hall to the exam room, gave me 4 stitches and mentioned that mom had a lot of spunk and we returned to the room. I'll never forget that. She was gem.... very sorely missed.
Just read about Ruth, your mom, and am so sorry to hear. Wife and I are fighting cancer here in our household as well. We will praying for her. May our God give her the peace she needs in this tough time. May He comfort her family as well.
