What's a good product to use on the dash that will not leave a shiny reflective surface?
I clean mine with a clean damp chamois about every six months and I have found that it stays nice and looks just like when it was new for a long time and never found anything else was needed.
I have always just used water but it is starting to look dry and milky.
If you are getting the milky or whitish haze, Aerospace 303 is the only thing that I have found that really works well. My 2002 FireBird was getting really milky and most stuff left the dash glossy and only lasted a short time.
Aerospace 303 is not always easy to find in local stores. Here in Florida some boating stores carry it because boats really have problems with oxidized vinyl. I find it online. A little goes a long way, just wipe it on wet and leave it for an hour and wipe. No shine and it looks great for months.
Warm, not hot, water with a little bit of Murphy's soap. Use a microfiber towel, wrung out to just damp, and wipe off with another dry microfiber towel. Works well for me.

I think Meguair's is better than VLR. I don't always use 303 on the inside but that is because I have to mail order it.

I understand what the owners manual says, but using just a damp cloth with water doesn't offer any protection from fading or cracking from the sun.
I currently use Mother's VLR or Aero 303 for UV protection.
