If I recall the 'contracts' that VIS/MC have, it is against the law to post a charge to your card unless the product is readily available to process... meaning there should be no weeks of waiting to ship or provide.
That is my understanding as well. They actually don't or can't charge your card until it ships and if they do they are in violation of a lot of states CC agreements. They will get your numbers however the charge doesn't appear on your account right away until it actually ships or is received by the purchaser.
It's amazing this stuff is still around in 2014. What's more amazing is the defense of it. It takes 30 seconds to send an email or shoot a txt if a vendor is too scared/busy to pick up the phone. At least inform us shortly after the transaction, then we can make a decision.
4-5 weeks is ridiculous, I don't blame the OP one bit for being upset. Have you thought about paying your water bill and waiting 4-5 weeks for it to show up? Here's $200 Comcast, can't wait to see my cable in 35 days.
Charge us when it ships, not when you feel like getting a cash flow.
Tell me up front and Im OK with it, if it's truely somthing custom I expect it. If you tell me 3-5 days and it takes 2 weeks (unless the country is in a large snow storm or ...) Then you will never get an order from me again. Like I say lie to me and you will never get the second chance.
