Please help me decide!!!
So I have a 30-35K dollar limit on a corvette giving by the wife. I also have about 20k plus to put into the car and don't mind using part of that 20K to purchase a nice Z if that's the way I decide to go. I want either a base C6 with nav and all that or a C6Z with the same. I like the removable roof on the base, but also like the looks of the Z as well as the performance.
I am wanting to push around 800 plus rwhp out of either of these cars. From what I have read and been told that the Z06 sucks for supercharged applications. I have seen several threads about them being supercharged and seem to be fine. I will be driving this car about 3 to 4 days a week and will not be taking it to the track much at all. I want to supercharge, stroke and run meth plus more on either one that I decide.
I am somewhat new to corvettes being have only owned a C6 Base. Sorry if this seems dumb. Sold it and do I regret that one.
Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing opinions!
P.S Currently deployed and doing my research.

What does it matter how much hp you laid down on a dyno? do you have a goal other than bragging rights on a dyno? like a mph in the 1/4? or an et?
if i had your cash and your goals minus the ridiculous 800+ hp number i would buy an '08 3LT with F55 (most comfortable/controlled ride in a c6) with high mileage but not beat to death, change the headlight lenses, windshield, steering wheel, center console lid and anything else that has wear to it within reason. have someone with a GREAT reputation build your LS3 (416 stroker) and drop any supercharger you deem appropriate on the top. even with that you're probably 10k short on your budget. either one or the other
i had a stroker, nice but I would go heartbeat TVS or edelbrock for my next engine upgrade.... runs like stock but there when you want it.. best of both worlds.
you didn't mention stick or auto either? stick easier to build auto? not so much.. in that case you may need to convert to 4l trans. and the rear will need beefing up also or you'll be snapping axles left and right if it hooks (which btw it won't lol)..
best of luck, but that budget would be tough. realistically you could get a nice C6z and some bolt ons and call it a day.. but i wouldn't want to drive a c6z almost daily unless you live in a place where roads are GLASS smooth.
And if you want the removable top? get a GS and drop a pro-charger in it or whatever SC you want.. plenty fast and will be very reliable.. but you should seriously contemplate the F55 for a daily.

Also, Tonygxp What is a realistic HP number for a daily driver? I just threw out 800 hp because I see a few lambo's around Nashville and figure I need that to beat them. LOL
I plan on buying a six-speed by the way.
I have an 05 (which I don't recommend) The LS2 is also a great engine 06 and 07 would be a better choice if you went that route, I had to change my rear, trans, and half shafts to stay reliable. Don't forget to add a clutch to your build, you will smoke the stocker in short order.
My big suggestion is if you are going with a stock bottom end, start with lower hp, I make between 620-640 rwhp depending on the dyno I'm on. I know there are faster cars out there...I just haven't found one yet
My point is you can have a reliable fast car and stay in your budget or a high maintenance "faster car" (if you can hook 800 hp) that will be a little north of your budget.
Just a thought, I have built a few undrivable C-16 drinking 4 mpg 1000+ hp monsters out of perfectly good reliable cars. I have a shirt that says "if its not broke fix it till it is"
Not knocking big hp guys. Most of those guys in my experience have the money and knowledge to play, and its not cheap. Good luck with your build and stay safe over there!
Thanks a lot everyone!! Keep all the advice coming. As I said before I am somewhat new to corvettes. Anything is appreciated.
