I have a 13 GS with stock GY tires. Can I rotate side to side? Tires are marked "side facing outward", they would still be facing outward after rotation, Is there an advantage? Have 8000 miles on them, had it realigned for street, seems to be wearing evenly.
Only way to rotate is to take the tire off the rim and turn them around and mount on other side. Inside would be facing out on both tires but rotation would be correct.
It depends if they have a directional tread or not. Some don't. Mine were but Z51s were not. You can still reverse direction for awhile to wear the 'cups' off. Just don't get caught in the rain with directional tread.

The Supercar tires that came on our Z51 were not directional, they just had an inner and outer side. Same with our Michelin PS2 replacements. As OP mentioned, flipping the wheels from left to right will still keep the outside, on the outside.
AFAIK, the Supercars on the GS are the same way.
Base model factory tires are directional and shouldn't be flipped.
However, if the tires are wearing evenly then you don't need to flip.
If the wear is uneven, then you need an alignment job rather than a flip.

In addition, if you take directional tires and rotate WITHOUT taking and reversing them on the rim when you change sides, they will separate because the belts will slide the other way when stopping and shear the thread layer.
Thanks for info, decided to no rotate, wear looks even.
The GY EMTs are non directional. Tires that are directional will have arrows indicating the direction of rotation. Tires that have Mount this side Outside indicators are marked that way so you put the large tread blocks to the outside of the tire for improved cornering.

Hmmm...
If you mean the ones on a GS, I agree.
The factory tires on a friend's C6 (non-Z51, non-GS) were Goodyears and they were directional, marked on the sidewall.
AFAIK; the Z51/GS/Z06/ZR1 tires, are usually non-directional. There may have been some options on the Z06 or ZR1 that were different.
Just look carefully at the sidewall, sometimes the directional arrow is done as a cute swoopy design that's easy to miss.

The Tire Store told me that this can be done with the Bridgestones I have on my GS. However, at 15K they are wearing evenly so I'll leave it alone. Looks like I'll get 2x-3x the life on these Bridgstones compared to the original Goodyears.

Wasn't the G:2 GY Supercar tires both directional and also had to be faced outward, thus they were corner specific.
