Originally, we had our ordinary flip phones paired to the car. Twice, the car completely "forgot" one or both phones, I re-paired them and everything was fine.
Two years ago we got Iphone 4s, deleted the flips, and paired both Iphones. After a month, the car again "forgot" my phone completely but kept my wife's. So I re-paired it and it's worked fine since then. My wife's has not had any troubles.
Today I was doing my annual "test everything" routine. My phone is fine.
My wife's Iphone gets the "Bluetooth" DIC message when starting the car (her fob only and her phone only in the car), and when I press the phone button on the steering wheel I get the "Ready" prompt.
When I say "Dial", the car speaker correctly says "Dial, using Joani".
I speak the number and the car speaker repeats it back to me, then the phone starts ringing. But nothing comes out of the car speaker at this point, I can only hear the ringing if I hold her phone up to my ear. And I can't end the call with the "Hangup" button on the steering wheel, must use the button on her phone.
Anyone know what's wrong?

my 2012 GS 2LT Vert Bluetooth has never really hooked up well with my 5C. first time I got it hooked up, it wouldn't take commands. then for about 8 months it wouldn't pair or recognize the 5C at all, even with bluetooth on. now it pairs but like yours, I can't hear a thing so I don't eve know if it's working. it doesn't talk to me either (I can't git no .....). with OS8 I'm starting to think the Bluetooth in the car is an older version than what the new iphones can handle. i'll have to do a little research and see if it is version specific to only certain phones.
I have been having similar issues since I installed IOS 8. Happens intermittently. I removed the device from the phone and paired again. Seems to be working so far.
Yesterday, I tried her phone several times, exiting and restarting the car each time after a couple of minutes. Same problem every time with hers, mine was fine every time.
Today, I did the same pattern several times and the problem has disappeared.
Go figure.
