are there any tutorials on how to remove the start? I need to replace mine and i cant seem to get it out, and im hoping I dont have to remove the exhaust to get it out.
I have heard that that one exhaust pipe needs to be unbolted and lowered, but not removed. The starter is not a difficult job. Someone who has done it will chime in here....
Yes the 2 bolts at the cat have to be removed so it can drop down to get the starter off and the new one on. The bolts are usually rusted and been under high heat. I was taking my loose and thought it was turning pretty well until i realized i had rung it off so be careful and maybe someone can chime in on how to remove the bolts without breaking them like i did on mine.
Good luck. I have a brand new starter if you need one. B&M compact high torque starter, never installed.
I had a starting issue with my 05 and never did pinpoint the problem. I had a very long thread and for some reason it has been, knock on wood, working fine, I do have a brand new High Torque Compact B&M Starter sitting in the garage in case it does go bad, go look at what all I went through and see if that resembles your and the OP's problem or symptoms. I am curious to see if they are the same or if my problem is different.
