Default TPMS Question

I'm returning home from a trip to Florida and my right rear tpms is telling me I only have 22 psi in the tire. I check it and it shows 30 psi so I know I am good on air.
I have 300 miles to do tomorrow when I get home is there a battery to change or do i need a new tpms

Thanks

The battery can't be replaced, the tpms has to be replaced - if that's the problem.
Try adding a couple psi to the tire in question to see if the warning goes away first.

Did you check pressure in all tires? The TPMS may be pointing you to an incorrect location

Don't do 300 miles with a tire at 22 psi...you could ruin it or even have a blowout. Forget the TPMS and check all four tires with a handheld gauge. It is likely that one of your tires is at 22 psi. If the sensors have been programmed wrong, they can be re-programmed and all is good. This is more likely than one having gone bad so soon.

Checked all of them before leaving and all good. I've been having issues with this one position. It has been setting @26 psi cold even though it had 30 psi in it. The other wheels would show 30 and warm up to 33 the right rear just showed 26 now 23 since its cold. Again I will check a tires before I leave

that's what I'm talking about, especially since it appears the OP has a 2013.

I've got one of my sensors that is definitely dying, it often gives me a zero pressure reading for a while before it finally kicks in and reads properly, and other times it'll read 3 or 4 pounds less than the rest even though a check with a proper tire pressure gauge shows otherwise. I just can't trust that sensor anymore and I plan on replacing it after the winter storage time is done.

Absolutely...and don't let anyone tell you that the tires must be demounted and rebalanced to do it. The bead can be broken and then a reach in to replace the sensor...tire never leaves the rim.

So are there any after market sensors that are good or should I stick with OEM? Usually I like to stay with OEM

Resetting solves the problem? First I've heard of this. My guess (purely from having a few go bad over the years) is that, at best, it was temporary, and what is really going on is that it's starting to go bad, but decided to behave for the moment.

Sometimes they go bad in a flash and never come back, sometimes they take a couple years to go bad and stay bad. I've had them go both ways. I even had one give me a message, clear itself, and then, in the next 60,000 miles (that I owned the car) stay just fine (I think it was Onstar ping-related).
