Good evening everyone. Currently I have a fully built 96 Honda Accord putting down about 355whp which I autocross but I am having in issue right now with cyl #4. Depending on how bad it is, I will be selling her because there comes a point where you have to move on. I have always loved the way vettes look and I am thinking about getting an 08 or newer convertible vette. I am not a stranger to the bowtie. Here is my truck which I have won 3rd place at the GM nationals.
For those guys that used to own a Honda, here is a pic of her.
I will be browsing this forum and checking things out but if there is anything that stands out besides any recalls I would appreciate the info.
your VTEC whip and the Vette will have nothing in common; even the door handles are different. You won't need a turbocharger blowing 24+ pounds to make more power than you already have with a Vette. Do it.
Each model year, 2008 to 2013 produces more refinements, and additions than the previous model year.
Buy the very latest model year you can afford, and you'll never go wrong.
Also, if possible look at a base 'vette along side, a Grand Sport.
The difference in physical appearance as well as the superior brakes, and other features may very well influence your buying decision.
If you haven't taken one out for a test drive - a ride ... DO it... then tell us which one you will buy... I got a 2008 Coupe - which I massaged a little ( S/C - header - hood - wheels etc ... ) And oh yeah there is this thing that will happen to you it's called a permanent smile everytime you drive it !!! Good luck with your choice...
The dirty little secret is the Corvette is a very good car before you even think about going fast. Ride, handle and driving pleasure will be much greater than your Honda before you get to autocross. Enjoy.
