Western Oregon here. Have started my search for a C-6 convertible. Preferably black black black.. Used car salesmen are a pain, I hope I can tolerate them until it is found.
Thanks for the open door!

If you're asking for help in the search a little more info is needed:
Price;
Coupe/vert;
Man/auto.
Good luck in the search.

I don't know what you do for a LIVING. I wonder if the people YOU deal with consider YOU a pain. All the USED CAR SALESMAN is doing is doing his/her job. If you know the car you are looking for and the price you want to spend .... Then find it and buy it. No need to trash someone who is doing their job. In fact, you might deceide to buy from a private seller. Would that person be a pain as well?

Lighten up, Francis. Everyone knows that used car salesmen usually live up to their reputation. How about swallowing your opinion and wish the new guy good luck on his search?

Welcome Mark! There are a lot of good people on here with loads of information that you'll find extremely helpful......well, most the time.

Pretty tough to find anyone, anywhere, who likes car salesmen.
Most are totally obnoxious, and have earned their reputation.

OP, good luck with your search. Hope you find your perfect 'vette sooner than later.

Unfortunately a lot of people in the automotive industry from the used car salesman to the parts dept people pride themselves on ripping off the customer, years back i knew a friend who was the parts manager in a dealership and was quite proud of boasting stories of how he would sell people parts that they didn't even need, which of course would increase their commission at the end of the month, by the way not a good friend, i also in my younger days worked at a new car dealer in a training position to be a salesman, the job wasn't for me, anyway from the sales managers mouth he would say people are nothing but "Dollar signs and liars" i'm not saying all used car salespeople are bad, i have met quite a few i liked and have bought from, but as the saying goes buyer beware.

Welcome. Bought my c6 off this forum. Keep searching here and maybe you will find a gem from a forum member. Usually a lot more trusting than a used car salesman.

Hey guys - enough with knocking used salesmen.
Hope you find the gem your are looking for - no matter who is offering it for sale.
Tough time of the year to find one - as many are now in hibernation till spring.
I'd wait till the convertable choices increase!

Wow, sorry if I offended you or your family.. Here is the basis for my statement.. Pay close attention please.
I drove 175 miles to look at a car on an independent lot. Salesman is a nice guy, I look the car over and tell him I don't need to drive it today as it's raining and don't want to get it dirty because I have others to look at too. I ask him to give me the "number" because I'm not willing to pay the ad price. "Well, we're pretty much there on our price" I say OK shake his hand and come home. NEXT morning car is up for 500 less.
Pretty much qualifies as a pain.
NEXT car I drive 75 miles to see, nice young guy gives me all the info. Nice car, nice dealership, I have the price off the ad. I was impressed enough to write a feedback letter to them stating my good experience. I get an email from a different guy saying "I got your feedback and I will give you a price you can only get from me" from the internet guy. Next day he sends me the same number that is on the ad. Pretty much qualifies as a pain.. THEN get another saying tell me what you want to pay.
Sorry for all the words but you asked.

Mark
