Looking at getting my first Vette, and after my ideal car fell through, I'm in a dilemma. The only original feature I really wanted was HUD, but after reading through threads I found out it could be added for a couple hundred dollars. I also wanted one already modded because I don't know how much extra $$$ I'll have while making the payment. (I like to save a certain amount each month.) Now the vettes in question both asking about $23k:
2008 Red Base Model M6
77k miles
LG Long Tubes
LG Midpipes
Hardened Pushrods
K&N Intake
Dual Rate Valve Springs
SLP Cat Back
ECS Blower Cam
ZR1 Wheels
Supposedly made 508RWHP (waiting to see the print out)
2008 3LT Atomic Orange A6
38k miles
Stock (except exterior color brake calipers and under hood accents)

I'd go for the lower miles too. Plus, the red one could very well had some rough handling. That's what Vettes are for to a great degree, but I don't think I'd want a used one that had been pushed. Sounds like a good price too if it's in nice shape.
I've had my '09 for over two years and haven't done a single mod to it (other than tires, but that doesn't count, and a new head unit) and it has plenty of HP for me, but perhaps not for you.
Take the stock one with the lower miles. 08 with 3LT package and only 38k miles for 23k is a steal if it has a clean car fax. I would not even hesitate at that price with those options. That car will still be worth that this time next year.
Hud parts are only a couple of hundred, its the dash that has to get pulled to install it the correct way, and labor charges are the bigger number here that you are not seeing.
Atomic Orange is a great color. When I was looking for my C6 convertible it had to be either Velocity Yellow or Atomic Orange. 2008 3LT with that low of miles is a steal at $23k if it hasn't been in an accident and had major repairs. If the Car Fax checks out and a third party inspection doesn't show any major issues, jump on it and buy it.
Me, too. Unless I did (or had) the mods done on the car I would shy away. Plus, the lower miles...
and that's the reason I'd go w. the second one w. lower miles.
Plus, most just short handed their responses to go with above.
I have no idea if you meant an ECS blower AND a cam, but a cam alone would be hard-pressed to produce 508 rwhp I think unless it was a really special one.
08 3lt for 23,000. What is wrong with it? Check carfax, this sounds to good to be true.As for mods, what are you going to do with it? Do you have a competent mechanic or can you do things yourself? Stock is pretty fast! If you can hold that long skinny thing under your right foot to the floor until you see god, then hold it there for 3 more seconds, then you need more horse power. I personally enjoy driving mine more than working on it. More horse power means you need more cooling, brakes, traction, etc......... You are buying an engineered product optimized for overall conditions you may encounter.
