He needs to use the tech2. Holding down the two buttons also learns the remote, not sure if it puts the car into learn mode for TPMS. There is something that has to be done on the ignition switch as well to put the car in learn with that procedure. The sure fire way is to hook up the Tech2, put the car in learn and then activate the sensor. Takes a whopping 10 minutes or less.
Just dropped car off at Chevy dealership for TPMS problem(4th trip) so the service tech informed me of the recall for headlight problems !!! I said go ahead & do it but I had to leave my car probably all day or longer, So it seems the "Headlight Recall" is active for the C6 2013

YOU ARE CORRECT !!!
just picked up my car & the tech told me he had to use the Tech2 to reprogram the TPMS, just using the fob did nothing, too bad it took 4 visits to get it done, but I did get a free oil change for my troubles.

Awesome, no more XXXX's
The dealer should have known this. Pushing both buttons on the fob is for re syncing the door remote to the car. You can do it with the remote, but there is something else like holding down a window switch or something that you have to do as well. The tech2 is sure and easier.
