My Curb Alert, which I love, goes off when heading into direct sunlight as the sun sets. I'm considering adding a switch to turn off the audio. Does anyone else have this issue?

YES I DO !!
into the sun...beeps also reflection off wet roadway.. beeps, on a highway with reflective stripes it will sometimes beep when changing lanes picking up reflection off the stripes, I just learned to live with it, these minor problems are still better than me hitting a curb stop.
I use to get the beeps when I go over white lines on the road. I resolved it by recalibrating the sensor to beep at a closer range. I use to have it beep when I would come around 2 feet from the curb and I think that made it too sensitive. I now have it around a foot and I don’t get any false warnings.
I opted for a front facing night vision camera instead.
That works just great. I just flip down my sunvisor, and the monitor shows me the curb.
Night time pic
Come on. That's too trick! That's really cool. I have my sensor set at about two feet as well. I'll try adjusting it closer like suggested above. Turns out my problem is minor. Only the direct sunlight sets mine off, not all the other stuff.

It is better than destroying the front end. I have a carbon fiber splitter that just about needs to be replaced. Why can't any of us tell where the front end is? I totally suck at it!
There is switch on the buzzer to set low high and off, turn it off, I have it and live in sunny Florida and haven't experience that problem, perhaps I sent mine back and doesn't stick out. It beeps 6 inches from the curb, love it.
I wonder if any of the fancy latest radios that have a back up camera also support front facing cameras? That would be my choice easily.
Some entertainment units will support 2 video feeds, so yes, both a front and back camera could be used.
The monitor comes alive once the camera powers up. In the rear camera set up, the camera power feed comes from the back up lights, so once the car is put in reverse, the camera comes on, and triggers the screen to come on and show the video.
My front camera is powered up by the fog lights (my preference)
I seldom use the fog lights, so if I'm front face parking, I turn on the fog lights as I'm getting close to the parking space, which turns on the camera/monitor.
I would like to know as well. Where can you buy that camera and visor screen at?
The camera is just a cheap night vision camera, mounted on top of the air deflector, using the center bolt of the deflector.
I bought the camera and monitor from Amazon for $20.00 total
I had to mount the monitor into the sunvisor, using the vanity mirror cover as a mounting template.
Yes, I did gut the vanity mirror from the sunvisor, but left the wiring so my homelink would still be powered up. (a bit of soldering was required.)
I have a PDF of the monitor mounting if anyone wants a copy.

Thank you for the PDF. That is a VERY clever setup. I never would have thought of it. I am so thankful for this thread, as I was considering the Curb Alert. I will install a camera now instead. I have a Crapwood head unit (which sucks) but it will support two cameras. But it is so laggy that this may be better overall. I'll try hooking it up to the head unit first and if not I have this as a fall back.
The only thing cooler than your setup is those guys that retrofitted the Cadillac Night Vision HUD setup on their C6's. But the price of the components are outta sight, along with the amount of work required. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...must-lqqk.html
BTW - I always have meant to tell you how much I love your Avatar!

Thank You for the Avatar plug!
That night vision thermal image camera set up is very indeed.
