This cannot be a serious post! It's a joke right?
This information is in your owners manual, you could Google it, you could look at the filter chart in any auto parts store, Wal-Mart, it's available every where.
You say you've been researching and cannot find this information?
If that's actually true, then I think you'd be better served by having a professional change your oil. Don't trust yourself.

I don't know where the OP was looking but Mobil 1 5w-30 is right on the oil filler cap. If you weren't able to find that when you were looking where the oil should go, maybe you shouldn't be changing your own oil.

X2. This is not a job he should be doing if he can't figure out the 2 most basic maintenance requirements.

In a previous post R&L'sC6 gave you a link for the owner's manual.
It contains everything you'll need to know.
If your transmission is an automatic, it's about 5 qts. I'm not certain because I don't have an automatic.
If you own a manual 6 speed transmission, you have a dry sump oil system that takes 10.5 qts., and the oil filter is different as well.
In either one, GM recommends Mobil 1 oil. That manual is your friend.

Hey, our bark is much worse than our bite Now we are getting somewhere, you have a dry sump.
I get my oil at Wal-Mart, it is 5-30 Mobil 1, and it is about $25 for a 5 quart container. So, it's about $60 worth of oil. The dry sump uses a higher pressure rated filter, and I order mine thru Amazon, and get the Mobil M-113 filter. There are 2 drain plugs for the dry sump, and you really do need the PDF manual, read about how to change you oil, because there is a process on how to even check the oil. Go to this site, and download it. http://www.chevrolet.com/content/dam...13corvette.pdf

We will help you, just keep a thick skin
You got that right. Still can't be certain he has a dry sump system though.
He said they guy in Auto Zone told him he needed 10.5 qts.
Maybe the guy at Auto Zone checked it out and he's correct, or maybe he assumed because it was a GS, it was dry sump?
I've seen others say the same thing when the car was in fact an automatic.
