got pandora!
excuse me fellow forum members for posting about pandora once again, but i must say that i am a very happy camper due to the fact that i no longer have to be held hostage by sirius. i had no idea that i could get pandora just by using a 1/8" mini cable thru auxiliary input. but thanks to one forum member for help and wisdom i finally got it. others have posted different ways of getting pandora from my phone but none of them worked out until i read the post from the one member (forget who, sorry) and went to k-mart and bought the cable came home plugged it in, voila. (spelling might be off but you get the idea) now i can kiss off sirius and not have them dictate their terms any longer. for $5 bucks a month i get commercial free pandora. and believe it or not it, sounds pretty damn good! sorry to the bose nay sayers. again, i apologize for a repost on pandora due to some guys getting bent out of shape.

I'd be happy to try it. But I don't have a large data plan on my phone. My understanding is Pandora does use some of it. No?

i subscribe to consumer celluar and i just upgraded my plan where both my wife and i share 1200 minutes a month and i get a crazy amount of data and wifi for $60 bucks a month, everything. i've been playing pandora in my ford escape and it uses up very little data. i get something like a little over a million gb or something like that. check it out on consumer on line and you'll get a good idea about their plans. put in a good word for me if you go that route.

one more thing. try it for one week and i'll guarantee you'll enjoy it more so than sirius because there is no hassles and no money taken out of your checking account like sirius does. i'm estatic about getting pandora in my vette. i didn't want to leave the car upon listening to it. i'm like a little kid with a new toy.

Just remember Pandora is no better than your cell service. I agree Pandora is a great alternative. And if you don't mind a commercial here and there you can listen for free.

yes, and like i stated you get commercial free pandora for 5 bucks a month. your paying at least 10 a month for sirius and they do nothing but haunt you when your subscription is up. you don't hear a word from pandora. sorry, i'm on the pandora kick. by the way, they have a promotion for one year for just 53 bucks no commercials. let sirius beat that.

You need an aux input harness. Google Ray Kawal and look at "aux harness 2" on his main page. It plugs into the XM receiver and will play your phone or ipod content when XM is selected on your nav. It took me about half hour to install. Works perfect.

if you have the aux. input that takes the mini cable from the phone to the cars input, thats it. with sirius i get a lot of fade in and out due to poor reception. with pandora its much, much better. like i said, give it a try for a few days.
