I have the M6 and love it. Also, it's a DD. My truck is an auto Sierra 1500 but I wish it was a manual too. If auto is your thing than more power too you. I just get really bored driving an auto and as a guy with ADD I need something to do. The manual takes care of my fidgeting needs!
I'm not a drag racer nor do i care much about straight line speed so i couldn't care less if i'm .5 or hell even 2 full seconds slower in the 1/4 than my exact model with the A6. Manual is and always will be more "fun" to drive. On the street that is, IMHO.
I'll leave autos to my DD's. And in fact i do feel like replacing my auto DD to a manual again (had a wrx but sold it). I feel like going to another manual, even if it's a crappy beater. That's how much i miss driving a manual everyday.
Still got a few forum members who can't post an opinion without putting others down. Maybe one day they'll realize most of us don't care about their opinion if that's the only way they can express theirs.
Thread originator didn't ask you what you think about people who have a differing opinion. You were just asked to post your favorite and why.
Why the picture of colorful trains colliding head on?
Probably because that POLL has been here a few times and each had some unfriendly results. In addition to these, there have been 3 or 4 other polls that only asked of older drivers or asked if you wanted to trade what you had.
It's a personal preference. I have owned both. The automatic shifts faster, are easier to manage in stop and go traffic and let's you shift with the paddels for a "similar" M6 feel.
The M6 gives you more control of the shifts, thus making you feel like you're driving a real sports car. But, in stop and go traffic, you will get tired of pushing the clutch in constantly and feathering it.
Between the two, I prefer the M6. For me, the positives outweigh the negatives. Test drive both and think about how and where you drive. Ask yourself, have you liked one over the other in the past and why.
I laugh when I read the post that say "manual is what make it a sports car", or "if you are driving an automato you not really driving a sports car". Tell that to any of the professional sports car drivers, that they are *****'s for not driving a manual. My latest Corvette is an A6, because it it faster then a manual, yet I have the option to use the paddles or if the traffic is at the stop and go pace the auto works just fine.
