Has anybody used this company for updated navigation disks?

GM used to come out with an updated disc every year in late summer/fall for the production line, and fall/winter for sales to existing cars.

But the last update they did was for 2013, there has been no 2014 or 2015 disc from GM.
Not sure if there ever will be.

Be careful about buying a disc from anyone except a current C6 owner or the GM site; check the site for version and part number. There are other GM nav discs that don't work in the C6. Some Toyota/Lexus discs worked when I tried them years ago, but not sure if that's still true. Some years (approx 2008-2011?) used two discs, be sure you get the correct number of discs for your year.

I looked at that website today after I read your post. I couldn't find anywhere on the website that states whether the discs are new or used. Perhaps I just overlooked it.
The price listed was about half of what gmnavdisc.com is asking. However I didn't care for the payment options listed on the website. I usually use PayPal and I didn't see that option. That sent up a red flag for me. JMHO

on the about us page .... some are used, some are new, at the bottom it shows paypal in the list of C.C's they take.

I don't like the fact you can't call them and there is no address as to where they are located. read the Terms and Condition closely .... I don't think I would buy these.

Looks like the part number for the most recent nav update is 22944166

22820294 was the one that came with my 2012.

Have not seen one past 22944166

I noticed he has a 2006. Is that one of the years that the Nav had 2 discs? If it is, just something else the OP has to consider.

I'd like to update my 2012. So is the consensus of opinion, the 22944166 is the latest disk?

Are there other website vendors that are recommended? In other words do we have more than just GM for a reliable source?

Not sure about outside vendors. Those numbers above are correct for MY 12 and 13.

Jim, if you're still following. Do you know if the single GM Nav Disc can be used in cars that used 2 Discs?. My 2007 used two discs then somewhere along the way, all the info was on one disc and I'm pretty sure it worked.

Will all the discs made during the C6 run work on any C6.

I purchased the updated disc thru them. I haven't used the car (2007 Vet) a lot sense I got it. It seems to work well so far.

These are the Nav DVD's from 2005-2013. The maker is DENSO Global
The years with (1) DVD covered all of US and Canada. The years with 2 DVD's covered East US and Canada on DVD #1, and West US and Canada on DVD #2.
If you buy the years with 2 DVD's, pay close attention to what you get. A lot of the DVD's get sold separately, so you only get the East or West US DVD.
It's nice that the 2012 and 2013 versions only has 1 DVD.
2005 version 1.0 p/n 10381886 one dvd.
2006 version 2.0 p/n 15779679 one dvd.
2007 version 3.0 p/n 15932106 one dvd.
2008 version 4.0 p/n 25852830 two dvd's.
2009 version 5.0 p/n 25976806 two dvd's.
2010 version 6.0 p/n 20861474 two dvd’s.
2011 version 7.0 p/n 20980238 two dvd's.
2012 version 8.0 p/n 22820294 one dvd.
2013 version 9.0 p/n 22944166 one dvd.

There has not been any more made since the Version 9, and likely will not be any more made.
I've had a version 2 that came with my 2006, and have upgraded every 2 years, and bought the last one from GMNav division.
I made a copy and keep the original tucked away for safe keeping. The copy works great.

We had a 2006 and now a 2009 and tried a friend's 2005.

Any C6 disc seems to work in any year C6, unless the disc or the nav unit is malfunctioning.

I'm pretty sure it was Denso, who also made the Nav in our 2005 Toyota Camry. That would explain why the discs seemed at least partly interchangable, not sure if all of the functions worked when trying to "cross pollenate."

If GM refuses to make updated discs even at their outrageious prices, that tells us a lot about their attitude toward customer support.

i'm surprised chevy still uses the disk. my ford has the sd card in it which i like better than the disk since there is no way you can mess it up with finger prints. i've seen other peoples disks and i'm surprised they function at all.

I also have a 2007 and have used both nav updates with 1 disc and 2 discs and they all worked fine. At the present I am using the latest version 9 single disc. I burned a copy to use in the car just in case it would be damaged somehow and the burned DL DVD disc works as good as the original.

The EULA specifically allows the copying of the original disc to be used by the original discs owner.

I purchase the latest disc directly from HERE , the map provider for GM, rather than the GM nav disc site and got it for $50 off on sale and shipped from them.

Thanks all.

I mailed my 2012 Version 8 to the OP for his 2006. Looks like it will work.

Thanks again.

"HERE" (formerly Navteq) is the name of the map company, owned by Nokia, that provides the maps for Garmins and most of the automotive factory built in nav units including GM.

Just sent an inquiry via their website to see if they have updated since the 2013 disc that I have.
