it's considered a "poser" because unless you know Corvette and/or get a real good look at the side of the car it'll dupe most into thinking it's a Z06 from a front and rear view. Has the looks, the handling, but none of the power of the Z06.
Anyways, let's see if this stays on topic or derails...
Which is the Z06 and which is the grand sport?
Exactly...poser
(no cheating looking at name of file)
None of the power...lol...436hp vs 505hp...it has roughly 86% of the power of a Z06, just like a base model. And like any car can be modified to any HP level you choose!
If you don't know Corvettes, you don't even know what a Z06 is! And you wouldn't even know the different models in the first place to be impressed or not.
If you do know about Corvettes, then you know there are three wide body models, the GS, Z06 and ZR1.
A GS was intended to be the new Z51 option... with an upgraded suspension, tires, brake cooling vents, etc. Basically a more track capable base model.
The only people who scream "Poser" on a GS are usually the butt hurt Corvette owners who don't have one and don't like them for one reason or another.

It's ok, it's just another butt hurt base model owner spewing out ignorance, out of jealousy...lol
It's all been said before and I'm not going to say anything else about it.
You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink!

I hear that from Z owners more than Base owners but here it is to get the story away from the fake calipers.
Z06 and ZR1 have lots of similarities too (same front bumper, same flared rear fenders) and I bet lots of people who don't "know Corvette" could mix them up too... So the ZR1 must be a "poser" too, since uninformed people can mistake it for a Z06, right?

Actually the Z06 is a "poser" for looking like the ZR1, which everyone in the whole world knows is the Corvette King...lol
On topic... I think the caliper covers look cheap, and the fake bolt heads are what makes it look like a "poser" caliper, instead of a cover. But if you like them, get them. Don't worry about whether it appears to be "poser" material. Obviously you can be a poser even buying a stock GS!
On a final note, how many people install the ZR1 spoiler and splitter on their non ZR1 cars? I don't hear the ZR1 guys calling us a bunch of posers! You know why? Because they aren't jealous!!!

Dude you're a n00b to this forum take a chill pill. I'm putting well north of 600RWHP down on my lowly base model hardly jealous of a GS or Z06. Plus I own a C7 so there's hardly any jealousy of a GS/Z06. I can afford whatever Vette model I want. I prefer taller gearing, a C6 with removable roof, and a lighter more aerodynamic base model for boosted applications.

I feel like I'm back in the C7 forums with all the butt hurtness that just took place.

You are contradicting yourself, or proving my point when I said you can add HP to ANY car! Who's to say that someone's GS or Z06 isn't putting 600+ to the ground? That's a stupid argument!
Your not jealous of HP, just suspension and braking!
You still have the stock brake system... and probably suspension on your car! Not smart dude! More hp needs more brakes, look at the Z06 and ZR1 for that clue, even GM knows that! Go upgrade your brakes and stop stirring the pot!

Okay dude...whatever makes you sleep better at night.
My C6 has more to it than horsepower modifications.

Yes, I see your posts bragging about racing Lambo's and other cars on the freeway. I also see your post about your stock brake calipers and rotors. I may be a noob, but I do pay attention!

This is your post buddy, so don't play stupid with me:
Well I'm thinking with 55K miles and squealing brakes it's time for a change. I want to get the brakes up to par with the power levels I'm pushing now (640rwhp).
Car is base model with base wheels and I'm not looking to go $3,000+ so no big brake kits due to cost and fitment. I'm on factory base model brakes with ZR1+ power levels so I figure it's time to balance the car out.

I don't think caliper covers help you stop better. You may think they look better but they don't help you stop.

If the shoe fits!
...and if you read up you'll know I have suspension work done. Big brakes are overkill on any street driving car unless you road course the car. Anyways, keep enjoying that Grand Sport poser of fury!!!

Yes brakes are overkill on the street... unless you want to stop...lmao!
Anyways, I guess you can enjoy your ZR1 "want to be" base model with no brakes...woohoo...watch out for that stop sign up ahead!
PS - You made sure to point out that you can afford any Corvette model you WANT, in fact you mentioned that you have a C7 to make your point. I'm impressed that you got another "base" model Corvette... because we know you didn't WANT a C7 Z06.

Wow, I don't understand this post at all! Are you talking to me?
I NEVER said anything about caliper covers improving brake performance! I also NEVER said they look good! So i'm not sure why you quoted my post to Nosferatu??? Are you taking what I said out of context and somehow implying I said either one of those thing???
The thread was about Caliper Covers.
You guys were having too much fun.
Regardless of how they are marketed, are they not made to *look* like calipers? (simulated bolts, etc)
Just my opinion -- and the OP *did* ask for people from the forum to respond with what they thought about them. I'm not saying no one should like them... I'm just saying I don't care for them and why, per the OP's request.
Cheers!
Its all good. To me the covers dont look anything like ZO6 calipers. Are people really thinking those "dots" are bolts? I will agree that well done painted calipers look better. I don't see any thing wrong with using covers either. All this your fake and oh yeah well your a poser talk sounds stupid. I don't get it at all. (but it is fun to listen to all the trash talking) Have a good day all.Donwil
This forum is cold lol!!! If people stop worrying about what the Next man thinks of his ride, Everyone will be ok. If you want covers put them on, If not then don't & Keep it moving... They will Roast you for almost anything!!!! You have to like your Own car first & That's what matters..
