I have an engine light staying on, no DIC code or warning. I unhooked the battery and it went away but it returned tonight. I have warranty left, so I'll have them check it tomorrow. Oil pressure is good, everything looks fine on the gauges. Just wondering if anyone has an idea?
Check the gas cap, and go get the code read. With any luck, its just a loose gas cap.
The DIC will not always provide any warning or message when the check engine light is on. You'll need a scan tool to plug into the car's OBD system and read the code. If you don't have one, from what I've heard Auto Zone will read the code for free. If the car runs fine, odds are the gas cap is not on securely. Re-fasten it, and if it was the cause, it will take a few trip cycles before the light goes out.
Thanks, I'll let everyone know. The appt. is for 9:30
The code was P 129A, at the parts store. The dealership was running behind. So, near as I can tell it's not a big deal, it actually cleared itself last start.
If I'm reading this right it has to do with a low barometric pressure reading and would have to do with some sort of fault or short in the MAP sensor. Doubt it'll turn out to be any big deal at the dealer

It cleared itself last time I started it, will there be anything for them to see?

If you're bringing it to the dealership anyway might as well mention the code that popped up and see what they have to say. I'm not sure if the car's computer stores a record of past codes
