Alright, let's see who we get going with this one. Went to the auto store not sure what the plan was, and I happened to come across the plastic fasteners spot. Now this is a quick fix but the matte finish matches the scoop grill, so it isnt too terrible. I guess there has to be an icebreaker here.

How hard was it to remove the front emblem?
Does it come out easily with a little effort?

The adhesive is pretty tough. Broke quite a bit of 12lb fishing line. (Wal-Mart $1). The two tabs are at the ends, so you can only get the top corners and up from the bottom of the emblems. I was able to grip the corners and spray some water and goo gone to help release It was a slow and tedious time to carefully pull them up and keep the adhesive tape on the emblem and not in the bumper. It took about 10 minutes and I didnt break either one. Then you have to use your thumb and rub/roll the remaining adhesive off of the bumper. I didnt have a hair dryer like some people recommend, but it was over 80 degrees out so that was all I had. Then finish off with Goo Gone, and some compound to take care of any light scratches you made.

To each his own first off, but do you find the emblem that objectionable? I know its your car and absolutely do as you wish but IMHO they don't look bad
Paint still looks better than mine as I can see orange peel on mine, nice and smooth though because I use clay, DA polisher with Meguairs Swirl remover then Meguairs Carnauba Gold, then a spray detailer so it aint too shabby but your clarity is spectacular Maybe its the black color ?? Yeah, its the black color

Those are the tops of the plastic push fasteners that are plugging the holes. Im probably going to put some paint or gloss black vinyl on the top to make them more subtle.

I like the flags. You can change the looks many ways with overlays and is just a good looking emblem to me. Having them air brushed on is an option I hadn't really considered. I saw a 56 bel air at a show who had all the side trim and Bel Air script air brushed on and it looked very, very cool! Had that 3D look. I'm going to look into this. You could design it any way you want. Hmmm...

Good idea using fishing line. My emblem is faded so I bought a new one but I saw the adhesive on the new one so I was thinking of a way to remove the old emblem. Thanks for the tip.

About $5 from that auction site.
It's been through a brush style carwash about 20 times in the last year and still looks good.

Although ease of cleaning and improved aerodynamics are a benefit, they weren't the reason I made the change.

here are the push plug fasteners with gloss black vinyl on them. A little more discrete.

Improved aerodynamics? Hahahaha! Oh. wait. Were you being serious? That emblem does create a lot of drag.

Thanks..yes, it's from Southern Car Parts. I have a little album and write up and some fyi on their forum postings for Flat Black ZR1 Side Skirts and Splitter Package. Not an easy install.

Front lip looks easy...or at least should be easy. Was it fitment issues?
