Can't figure out why everyone complaining about keyless start and keyless entry and exit ever bought a C6.
I'll repeat what I said in another thread; What is so difficult about reading the Owners Manual? Also, I'll betcha more drivers are killed wrecking their Vette than die because they can't figure out how to get out. What do you think GM should have done about that?
There seems to be quite a range of opinions as to how the man and his dog died in his car and how it could have been prevented. Some say it is an engineering/design issue and others say it is the fault of the driver. I thought it would be interesting to start a poll to see where we stand. I'll start with my vote as an engineering/design defect. What say you?
User stupidity.
I bought mine used with a manual, but one of my first questions to the seller when I discovered the pushbutton unlatch mechanism was, "What do you do if there's no power?" That question ought to occur to the dimmest newb and he ought to realize that there is an answer to it. He should seek it out.
Guy was like 70, it probably never occurred to him there would be an easy manual lever to open the door.
I used mine after reading the article just to make sure it worked.
Any car is not just transportation, it is a big, fast and possibly dangerous thing. The owner has a responsibility to know how to use it, just as a gun owner is responsible for knowing how to use the gun also. It's a tragedy to have something like this happen, but there is responsibility attached to the event too...
See what I mean, put the blame on somebody else. You hit the nail on the head, people DON"T read it, said people have nobody to blame but themselves! And if you bought a vehicle without one, why didn't you request one before accepting the vehicle, it's not like the dealer doesn't have access to them, they are free online.
Edit: Let me get this straight, you are saying you are too lazy to read the instruction manual and put all of your trust that the dealer is going to tell you and show you all of the safety features in the vehicle? Last time I checked the dealers #1 priority is making money and not every salesman on the floor is not 100% knowledgeable about all of the cars on the lot thats for sure!
I go through threads here and choose the ones that interest me. I don't think that I would have time to go through the ones that do not interest me and post in them that they don't interest me. I figure that it's just easier to ignore the ones that don't interest me. Also, I figure that no one here on the forum cares whether a particular thread interests me or not, so I don't tell them so.

While sitting on my front porch wiping drool off my chin I have enuff time to look at posts that don't interest me and post on them. Sometimes I squirt the water hose on folks going by on their walkers. Either one can produce interesting results.
Hell, ya...a guy that old should be sittin on his porch wiping the drool off his chin, not drivin some snazzy souped up sporty car...
Hold on just a minute! I'm 75 and don't drool yet. I spend more time in my Corvette than I do on the porch. I've only had it one year and 4 months. It's my first one and I plan on enjoying it for a few more years.
I can't figure out if you're making fun of us old folks or are a grouchy old man too!

Just kidding, Batman! I'm but a mere child of 70.
My dad never sat on the porch either...always said to keep active. He passed at 96+!
So, hang on for the ride, Batman...gonna be fun.

I figured you were. Especially after reading the part about squirting people shuffling by with their walkers.
