Thanks for the advice. I guess I should have more specific. Not for track days, just all around use. Once after washing my car with regular sneakers on which were wet, I almost drove the car through the wall in my garage after my foot slipped off the clutch.
I've not found any shoe that will not slip on the stock clutch petal, IF your shoes are wet. Many have changed the petals to get better wet grip. If I find some options later today, I'll edit this post for them.
Seriously? It's a Corvette, not an F1 car. I drive my car with everything from dress shoes to flip flips, cowboy boots, sneakers and even (real) driving shoes. It's all fine. I've even driven on the track with regular sneakers. It's all fine, driving shoes are nice on the track. On the street, lol...
I noticed that my A6 brake pedal is all metal, without a rubber pad. Is that intentional for a more performance look or is something missing, like the rubber pad?
not sure about the answer but those holes are tough on the toenails

Search for SRP racing pedals. Sold by some vendors here. Nice quality and your feet won't slip again. I have the pyramid black and silver. One of my favorite mods.
Driving shoes for putting around town? This is right on par with asking "what's the best vacuum for Lloyd's mats?" Or "What windshield fluid is the best?".
Tennis shoes, sandals, bare feet, elbows, prosthetic leg with loafers, doesn't matter.
My driving shoes are for jogging and track days. I use my running shoes that are made for mid foot strikers rather than the traditional FAT heel running shoes. Fit snug and flat bottom.

Glad i'm not the only one laughing here (and in an auto at that). Only trouble I've come across was cleats. that kind of sucked.
