I was wondering if a Diff from a 6 speed is a direct bolt in to a 2005 A4 I would like to upgrade to the 342 6 speed diff. I know I need to change the computer but will the Diff bolt right in. Again this is the only year 2005 Diff. Thanks

I would try to find any C6 A6, meet them somewhere to get to a lift, then compare. It would be really nice if there were 2 lifts so you can compare while they were both in the air. Comparing may show you it may not be as hard as you think. Now for the electronics???
It only takes a few mounting points to make things difficult.
Torque tube could be different. Maybe floor.
It would be nice to find a donor with the trans/diff on the cradle.
I can understand why the interest. The 4 speed auto's should not have been mated to any LSX from the beginning.
Make SURE that if you tackle this project, everything works including the electronics. If there are ANY glitches whatsoever and you decide the sell the car, the value will absolutely nosedive. Nobody will want to touch that car!
