The tuner set my fan to come on at 30% at 195 degrees and 70% at 203 degrees like i said the outside temps has been in the 100 degrees plus for over a month now, so if I'm at a stop light my will go to 203 then the fan comes on at 70% then, when I start moving at 45mph (Speed Limit) it will drop down to around 192.I use the paddles all the time to keep my rpms up so I don't get any "Jerking" because of the cam.This tuner has tuned hundreds of corvettes, so he knows what he is doing.BTW it was a true tuned on a Dyno-Jet. Twice.......
PS-I've heard that the factory fan setting is 225 degrees.?

The fans run with the A/C on and that is all the time for me. They may not run at 100% but they run.

I think when the tuner commanded my fan to come on at different temps that delects the ac function?

It should not. My fan comes on when the AC is on. Tune with fan temp and speed changes were made with my tune.

Then the fan must come on at a specified temperature because I have checked it a few times, for instant".my vette is in a car port and I will start it up let it run for awhile until the stat opens (180) then turn on the ac to the coldest temp,then I open the hood and the fan is not running. I would think that the ac/fan will not come on until the coolant goes above 210 or so? If the fan is running at 195 with ac on, well the tuner set my fan to come on at 195 also.....

Strange. Mine will come on when I turn the AC on regardless of coolant temp.

2008 OEM Fan Desired % vs ECT

With AC off

196 = 0%
199 = 15%
203 = 23%
207 = 31%
210 = 39%
214 = 47%
217 = 56%
221 = 74%
225 = 90% @ max %

With AC on

The AC pressure will determine the fan desired %.

A Thermostat controls the opening point for coolant.

Radiator fan/shroud, Radiator cooling capacity and Tune will control the coolant temperature.

Default Installed!

Got the thermostat installed today, took quite a while, stock was sticking around 217 on highway and with thermostat installed 225 until I got the levels right.

Used about 2 1/2 gallons total but it won't go above 200 now, on the highway it stays 178F... and clowning around, it gets around 185-190 with 82F outside in the evening... Hell I can hear the exhaust over the fan now... WIN

Wow, i'm impressed. Fan barely comes on now too as Chuck sent me his spare with the fan settings for the 160F.

I can live with it lasting longer! That's for sure... Autocal is coming tomorrow... Will keep updated

If you want the car to remain in your choice of 10* temp range without any tuning I have had this http://www.maxfanvette.com/About%20Us.html on the car for 3 years and 26,000 miles and highly recommend it. My car will cruise around 196*, so I set the device at 198. Fan is usually off, but if I'm in traffic or it's real hot out, etc. I have not seen the temp over 205. I really like the other features, extended fan run after shutoff, built in safety, etc.

Yes, the engine will last about 25,000 miles longer with a lower temp thermostat....450,000 miles vs 425,000 miles. Use better oil and add another 25,000 to the total. At the forum standard rate of 4,000 miles per year, in 100 years, more C6s will be running strong.
