Made a wash wand following your post a couple of years ago.

Spent 2 hours working on the condenser fins. Then removed air filter and cover and flushed them out.

Will see if it runs cooler later today after it gets hot.

Default Temperature question

Your oil should be 200 once warm all the time. My dry sump GS has the opposite problem being too cool, but I did manage 195 yesterday in normal driving.

my GS runs 192 degrees on the highway with air on and bumps up to 205-212 when sitting in traffic or working it hard. Oil temps always under 200 with coolers..... If running no air conditioning it takes awhile to get the fans to come on.....with the air the fans are always on after car hits operating temps.....

On my commute home, I see a bit of stop and go and my temps are similar to yours, but with about 20 degrees higher ambient. My car is also an 07 A6 with about 112k miles on it. I see around 218 to 225 coolant temperatures, and 200 to 212 transmission temperatures. Everything is 100% stock, the coolant flush and transmission fluid change was done around 75k miles I believe. My cooling fan connector melted/failed so those are now hardwired.

Very possible. I ran over a plastic bag that was blowing around the interstate the other day. Looked in the rear view mirror and did not see it as I passed.

Yep sure enough it got sucked into the radiator blocking a good 1/4 of it.

Only in cool temps or driving gently. Both our 2006 and now our 2009 (both A6) will show oil temps of 215-225 after a half hour of 70 mph on a 70's-80's summer day.
