Default Thread posting or not?

Was wondering if any of you that are on here enjoy the forum more when you just check out the threads and don't post replies. I have been considering doing that. I take some of the replies too personally and then instead of just having fun ******* each other it turns into me trying to get back at someone. If I need help with something you cats are good about letting me PM you and answering my questions.

I suppose both reading and posting.

I'll read more than half of new threads on General Discussion as well as Tech/Performance. A few on Scan&Tune , Forced Induction/Nitro and Audio/Electronics but only a few of those.

Now, when i read something that takes some research , i'll do it until i get as close to an answer as possible. Then, if the answer is helpful and i'm really sure it's right, i'll post a reply. That research will force me to learn stuff that just reading a question/answer will never give you.

So, bottom line is that reading topics is very informative but researching probably more so!

Now, i'll post any good answer provided i'm really sure it's correct. Like now, this answer is informative so i 'm writting it.... LOL

NOTE: fyi, there are fewer "hecklers" here now than about 3 years ago, it got really bad back then. i left when the thread police wouldnt stop it and when i asked, they got rude! (that thread police dude is gone) anyway, i'm back and i see very few rude compared to back then.

It takes a little practice, and discipline, but after a while you'll learn to ignore the people who make snarky remarks, and personal insults.
These forums have a number of malcontents, who seem to enjoy trying to get a rise out of someone, anyone, it makes their day.
Most of them have the I.Q. of a houseplant.

Never forget, it's just an Internet forum, it's not the real world, never take anything personally.
Seek out and enjoy the folks that make your forum experience enjoyable, and ignore the miscreants.

I'm disappointed when someone asks for information that I'm also interested in and another person replies with something like "PM sent". The whole point of forums is to share information. This can't happen when it's done via PMs. I totally get the idea of private conversations, but it seems some people have a tendency to not want to share things that aren't really private.

Don't let a few ruin a good forum, you will quickly learn the few that know it all or have nothing good to contribute...

I actually have been a avid reader of this forum for almost 4 years but I only decided to join two months ago. I do know everybody on here ( from reading the posts ) so I guess I fit the bill of reading and not posting. And yes I do own a C6.

It does seem that lately the Peanut Gallery is a little testy, I find it amusing how things can go south so quickly, well more sad actually
A good sense of humor and a thick skin helps though.

I just posted a few minutes ago about using a battery tender I got "free with any purchase" from Harbor Freight"
Bet I get a few "what are you nuts" comments. It's okay because maybe I'll learn something I didn't know before.

You got it for free?
It must be a piece of junk, that's why they're giving them away.
Wait, which one is it?
Ahhh, it doesn't matter, mine is the best because I own it.
Sound familiar?

With almost 60,000 posts on the forum in 11 years, I like doing both.

Since I've owned several C6s in those years, I think that some of my posts have helped someone else. And I do read the forum to solve problems I sometimes have with those C6s.

Researched here allot before buying.... And have learned allot just reading.... But just like any other forum there is plenty of humor and snarky behavior.... All comes with the territory.....

Over all a pretty well behaved group....

I hope you understand that debating black wheels with you is just a joke as far as I'm concerned I have had people misunderstand my dry sense of humor then I found out I hurt their feelings.

You can't hurt Don's feelings, he just loves bright shiny objects.
I've seen him play with a new penny all day.
