Default 2010-2011-2012 GS....Differences?

Looking to finally get into a GS in the next few months. Had an '06 coupe and always read about how there were several important improvements in the '08's and up.

Were there any such improvements in the GS between model years '10, '11 and 12? I'll be looking for an automatic.

Thanks in advance for any info/thoughts on the topic.

All 2012-2013 had a few interior changes. The seat foam and covers were reshaped. All got seat airbags. Door panels got armrest pads on all models (vs only 4lt previously)

2lt and up got the Nav radio and HUD included in the package.

For automatics, you can used the paddle shifters in "D" and it will time out without input after 10 seconds,You could also cancel "manual mode" in "S" by holding the "+" in 6th for a few seconds, Earlier versions you could only use them In "S" mode and to cancel it you had to move the stick into "D".

Thanks for your replies.

I guess I'm wondering if there are any major changes such as those that happened between '07 and '08...more horsepower, better steering, etc...

F55 not available in 2010, but yes in 2011-13.

Also, the syncros in the manual transmissions were improved in 2011, as an example.

But each year Chevy did do some upgrades each year, like better seat padding, HUD became standard at lower option levels, etc.

If you look at this website ( http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/specs/c6/index.html ) It has a lot of info about each specific year of production too.

Like others have said ... A few minor changes to the interior between the 2010-2013 GS models ... As far as the drivetrain, they are all the same.
_______________________________

Edit ... There might have been a slight difference in the exhaust cats sometime between the 2011 LS3 and the 2013 LS3 ... I think

.

Correct. 2010-2011 had 2 exhaust CATs and 2012+ have 4.

RC4G .... thanks for the info.

Yup, my 2011 GS had 2 OEM cats ... Well, it still does, but now there smaller and of the high-flow variety.

There are some minor drivetrain upgrades between some of the years, but nothing significant. I know that in 2011 (because I have one, I special ordered it, so I was all into the specs for that model year), that it has upgraded carbon fiber syncros in the MN6 transmission, and a shorter throw shifter (compared to my 2008 MN6). It also has ZR1 axle half shafts, since I ordered it with the mag ride suspension, it was part of the package.

Just enough changes to really mess with you, later on, when things need rebuilding.......

2011 has different headrest than 2010. Then like others have said 2012-13 seat cushions were revised and wider. The steering wheel is changed in 2012-13. If you want a true black car, ALL 2012 cars were painted "carbon flash " which is a metallic paint and only comes as a Centennial Edition that usually commands a higher price compared to other GS's.

If I remember correctly, the paddle shifting was improved (faster) in 2012 or 2013.

Right, it was 2012, the A6's shift programming was much improved. I had an 08 and I think it is significantly better.

I can confirm this as a 2012 owner...I promptly removed and installed a Bill Boat X pipe...these are un-monitored cats.

2012 also saw the following improvements ( these improvements are only on the 2012 and 2013)
* New seats feature improved appearance and larger bolsters
* New steering wheel
* New Bose Premium audio system includes nine speakers (vs. seven in 2011),
including new tweeters located in the instrument panel and improved Bose Nd
next-generation bass performance.

Plus the Centennial Edition was available:
Chevrolet Centennial Special Edition commemorates Chevrolet’s 100th anniversary
* Carbon Flash Metallic exterior color (Special paint only used for C6 Centennial Edition Corvettes in year 2012!)
* Special Chevrolet Centennial Black wheels (specific to model) with special center cap logos
* Satin Black graphics
* Magnetic Selective Ride Control
* Red brake calipers
* Special badging
* Suede seats with Red stitching (only for Centennial edition Corvettes)
* Seat embossment, steering wheel badge and special interior trim plate

Nothing improved from a performance or handling stand point...

But the interior on the Centennial is real nice....
