Default Vitesse Throttle Controller Help.

Need help with removing gas pedal plug so I can install the hardware.
Is there a certain way to remove the plug been at it for 20 mins now.

Any tricks of the trades?

Not a lot of room to work with the tap on the gas pedal plug seem to be very small to push down on.

Do I need to remove the 2 screws 13mm bolt that hold the gas pedal in place?

You can if it makes it easier. The little gray clip on the plug on top of the throttle connection plugs slides up and out... a smsll.screwdriver might help. Then the two plugs disconnect.

Detailed instructions are on several threads. It's alot easier than apparently some people make it.

Be sure to remove the gray clip completely. Then you press in the center and pull upward which will separate the connector. I ended up removing the 2 bolts to the gas pedal which gives a much better view. Good Luck. You will like it.

Just be careful with SP9 .... you will light them up in a heartbeat and when you might not least expect it ........

When I set mine on 9 it will spin easy 30 ft from the stomp and snap into 2nd real hard

Sometimes I back it down to 7

Thank you. Looking at it it looks like the hardest part is getting underneath the dash. We were under there today since my Escort power wire came unplugged and could not find the connection. Did not really have the energy to find it. This will give me 2 reasons to pull everything out and get a clear view of what is under there.

It is easy , , pop the plastic plugs out of the black cover under the dash

And remember it is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY easier to drop the gas pedal to remove the harness than to try and fight it while its mounted

2 - 13MM bolts and its in your hand , remove the grey safety clip, swap the connectors , put the clip back on and then bolt it back to its mounting bracket ,

From start to finish should take you no longer than 30 minutes

Ya know, Dave, I had planned on doing that when I installed my controller, but there was no way in hell that I could see to get a socket on that top bolt. The pedal was in the way. I ended up getting the connectors apart by prying up on the gray clip with a small metal pick. It came right apart after that.

Could a swivel be used on an extension to get to bolt?

Why, yes, I believe it could actually. Unfortunately I don't own one.
If I was doing it over, that's probably the first thing I'd go buy...

I have a multiple extension and swivel set from just being frustrated doing things like this. Options in a tool set is an awesome day
