3rd brakelight swap
I like the look of the Z06 3rd brakelight; it seems to be slightly raised compared to the standard C6.
Has anyone bought and installed something like this?

Installs using the center brake light housing from the standard spoiler.
All of the OEM spoilers us the same light housing.
It can be installed in about 10-15 minutes, just take out inward tail lights to gain access to spoiler studs and wiring.

My buddy gave me his Z06 spoiler.
My light fit perfectly in it and the spoiler mounted quickly on the car.

So my hood was probably painted one day, and then my doors another day, etc, etc. Very annoying. I wish they had sprayed the whole car at same time....

Personally I don't like the monotone look, so I wouldn't get it painted body color. That's just personal opinion though.
The Z06 (and GS) spoiler / 3rd brake housing is indeed a little taller then the base stock version though.

This was my concern as well; but is "black" the correct color to order to retain the stock appearance?

Flat black is what they all came from the factory with, but GM offered body colored painted ones as dealer installed option on most colors, as well as body colored door handles and front/ rear license plate frames in body color.
