It's going in and out under the dash countless times to get tools. The GF I had is no more, so nobody around to hand them to me.
But, like everything else all my life, I will fudge this around in my demented brain, snowballing it into a much worse job than it actually turns out to be.
Bruze - Don't make me jump on a plane and fly up there to install a Vitesse. I hate NY but.....

I don't know if you've ever been east or not, but even though I'm in NYS I live a LONG ways from NYC -- I'm in the valley over the hill on the right, NYC is about 375 miles beyond that:
But if you want to come up, I always have a lot of NYS wine on hand.

What about beer...LOTS of beer! You're not anywhere near Buffalo are you?? Oh, What's the difference, I hate anything that comes out in the format xxx, NY xxxxx. How about SD?? Now that's an idea. It'll be a balmy 118 this WE. We'll put your car up on the lift, and I'll show you how to get under your dash while standing up!

13 mm ratchet, nylon ties, and a screwdriver is all you need ...

I'm about 90 or so miles east of Buffalo, south of Rochester, in the Finger Lakes.
I don't drink beer like I did when younger, I had to move to something stronger. But I always have some in the fridge! Nothing better when mowing the lawn on a hot day!

That's it??? How is the plastic panel held in?

Short of a magic wand, it ain't gonna help Bruze. He cannot get hisself under da dash. That's where I would come in but...I'm 3K miles away.
I can get in okay (5'10" 175 lbs.) I just don't want to cuz it's not fun anymore. But if I buy the thing and have it sitting here, that will motivate me.
I just removed the plastic panel that is held in with three plastic push fasteners. Remove with a trim pry tool. Then it's 60 seconds done from there. Use a head lamp, lie on your back for 5 mins and good to go.
Once that panel is removed, it's very easy.
I can help anyone in the DFW area or call me as well and I can walk you through it. It's totally worth doing.
There are 3 (I think) pushpin type clips that hold it up. Just pop them out with one of these.

Thanks, you guys are great.
I guess the biggest problem is finding the best spot for the control box. I've seen several options in various threads here. Personal preference I guess.

Anyone know what size these are? One of mine was loose even before this install. Amazon has 1/4" ones that someone says fit Camaro,
the box contains 100 but they are cheap.

Reason: typo

I found it much easier to get to the connector once I removed the accelerator assembly, it's just 2 bolts.

I assume you are talking about the plastic pins, and that you can't re-use them?

The installation instructions at the Vitesse website leave a lot to be desired, although I'm sure it's much simpler than it seems once you get into it and can actually see things.
You don't need a video , just unplug one connector located on your gas pedal, connect that to the Vitesse, connect the remaining connector on the Vitesse to your gas pedal , mount the control box and calibrate ....
The plastic panel under the dash pulls right out and the chances of breaking the little plugs are low ....
It is really easy to install and I think we might be over complicating things a bit .....
Now it might be hard for some to crawl under the dash as it is tough , but removing the pedal makes it so much easier ....
I haven't tried to install one, so no first hand experience good or bad as yet, but I am struck by the number of people on this thread and others related to the product, who need help, aren't sure how to undo the cable, access the two pedal assembly mounting bolts, and so on. Speaking just for myself, that's the kind of stuff that a clear video can go a very long ways toward clarifying. Maybe Vitesse will license for their own commercial website use an especially good instructional video made by one of the forum members here(?). Seems seeing someone who's done this before take you through it before you do it yourself would be beneficial, however such a video gets made . . .
