Default Some Twilight Zone stuff here...

Yesterday, I receive a letter with two diagrams, from GM, with helpful directions on how to get into my Corvette in the event that the fob stops working. I read said letter with a chuckle, as this has never happened to me on my C4, C5, or C6 gen vettes. I then toss it into the trash, curious about why GM thought they needed to educate me at this point in my ownership. Received recall notices, but never something like this.

Drive to play golf today, play 18 holes, feeling pretty good about the state of my game starting in 2016. Go to open the trunk to store the clubs, and no joy. Pull out the remote, and nothing opens, trunk, doors, nada. Think of the GM letter yesterday and thought no wayyyy....

I already knew how to use the key, pull the release, and get the car opened up, but then thought, oh sh*&, the remote is dead and the car won't start, but start right up it did. After that, the remote operates normally. Locks, unlocks, opens the trunk, etc. Even dared to stop at Twin Peaks for a beer and lunch, no problems.

Some Twilight Zone start to 2016. Guess it's time to change the battery and hope it doesn't happen agin. Take nothing for granted.

Happy New Year to my Corvette Brothers and Sisters!

Evidently you don't post here very often.

There have been 4 other threads posted here about that letter from GM.

That some funny sh*t, getting locked out after getting the letter. Hopefully it has stopped. Then again good timing for the letter if you didn't already know.

Could have been 'random' RF interference or maybe Karma is just catching up with you for so few posts over such a long Forum Membership.

Thanks for sharing, anyhow.

LOL, could be Karma. I used to post quite a bit over in the C3 and C4 sections, back when I had those cars, but lost my id password and had to start over. I do read a lot especially when I need to find out information, which the forum is really good at.

And the letter was about getting out, I just thought the timing of the issue was really strange.

So you must have unlocked the door with your imagination.

The SyFi channel just finished a "Twilight Zone" marathon, running all the shows in the order they were broadcast in the 60s. I watched a few of them ... still good.

At least you got a letter to start the weirdness. I usually have the same experience after reading posts in this forum I start thinking that my '08 must have some of these problems since everyone else on here is talking about them.

I think we all got the letter if you are original owner. When I read it the initial reaction was WTF!
