I dont know what kind of society you live in down there in breaking bad land but we take care of our sick and needy
One or the other of us is missing the point. As I understand it, the family wants money to buy a Corvette so they can surprise the father and then sell the Corvette and donate money to ALS. All noble thoughts.
IMO, a better idea would be for a local Corvette club (perhaps several local clubs) to plan a cruise to his home, take him and the family on a nice drive, plan a restaurant stop for a meal (or a BBQ at a members home), and pass the hat for the family. Anyone wanting to make individual donations to ALS can do so on their own.
Yooo hooo. That's my point. A municipal worker all his life who gets ALS is not denied disability in the Canadian system.
Yoo hoo. Anybody home?
Ok you made your point..
And I will remind you that the point of this thread is for people with common interest (ie corvettes) which for most is a happy subject, to rally together and in this case make someone who is less fortunate and in there last moments bring a lifetime dream to light and in the meantime supporting the fight to have others fall to this unjust reality.
I guess im saying its not really the appropriate place just to shoot off useless rhetoric. Maybe consider a Trump rally?

Why are you bringing politics into this charity? Uncalled for, everyone has a right to an opinion in this forum.
As part of the corvette family, I hope to add another. I don't know anyone with ALS, but I hope in some small way we all can come together and make this dream come true. Best wishes from, Tyler & Emilia

No you don't. Lived there for 25 years and could not stand the politics. People drive down to US to get medical help and pay for it. Welfare cases move from province to province and live on it and the government says it is unconstitutional to deny them service. Young people are on unemployment for a very long time making more money than working stiffs as they have to give half if their income in taxes. Plus everything cost twice there. Ever Time a Canadian comes on any forum all high and mighty, i get sick to my stomach as you have no idea my friend.

There was a time when I thought people in Canada were pretty friendly, and understanding. Maybe I was wrong. This post exists for a noble cause, not so that someone can crack wise about a person in the U.S. who has nothing to do with you, or with this post.

I created this post and it is for a noble cause. I cant believe how many people have posted negative, critical, accusational posts from what I like to consider the greatest nation on earth. But I dont paint all with the same brush.
Friendly and understanding are strong character traits where a crack on a public figure making a fool of himself seems to me a bit harsh to make judgement on a nation.

There you go again, Mr. high and mighty, you do not know how to stop. Now you are making fool of yourself. Enough is enough! your responses are everything you are blaming others with, critical, accusational, condescending and hypocritical. This is the country of free, and no one has to be pulled into guilt trips for expressing their opinions. If you have anything to say it, say it but keep your jabs to our system our politics to yourself.
The moderators are going to shut down this thread if people do not settle down. Mister OP, I am with you on this crusade, but you are starting to make yourself look bad.

I am definitely not high and you surely have no clue how mighty I am but I am pretty damn sure what kind of person you are..online toughguy who sticks his face in anywhere for attention and hears just what you wanna hear so you can make your useless point. Im sure the keyboard has saved you alot of bloody noses
At this point im gonna have to suggest we agree to disagree and return this thread to the purpose it is meant for which is simple..if you feel you would like to make a small donation or share your feelings or even just say something nice to the Mckenzie family please feel free
If this thread continues to deteriorate to hostility and personal attacks, it will be deleted.
Those who want to participate in the crowdfunding effort will do so, those who do not want to probably will not be persuaded to change their minds.
I don't know how this works in Canada, but our standard practice has been to require that any request for donations must go through a 501c3 organization. That provides some safeguards to donors because the agency is required to file reports with the US Internal Revenue Service on how they spent the money. It also makes the donations tax deductible.
There have been exceptions, of course, such as when a long-time, active site user falls on hard times, needs some immediate help and generous site users spontaneously jump in and try to help through a gofundme account or with direct contributions.
There is some danger involved in those independent funding requests and those who participate accept the risk that the money may not be used for the purpose indicated.
If some of you believe the cause is worthy and want to participate, you are welcome to do so. If you do not want to participate, that's fine, too.
Scotts condition has worsened but he is in good spirits watching the the Corvettes battle the Fords and Ferraris in the Weathertech series..
I am pleased to know he and the family will be at CTMP August 1st for the Celebration of Speed event where Ron Fellows will again be there.
