I'm ready to put the car away for a few months, I just purchased a CTEK 4.3, am in the Cleveland area. What mode do I want to use?
I'm guessing I should use Cold Weather Mode on the float setting.
Battery appears to be a standard ACDelco 600 cca, 100 rc, manufactured in 2010; no problems over the summer and 9,000 miles since we purchased the car.
I would have that battery load checked soon, maybe when you get it out of hibernation.
6 years on a battery is about the limit, and these cars like strong ones.
I just changed mine. It load test on the border line, so I replace it and notice how much faster the car starts in the cold mornings.
I would change the battery period - you are living on borrowed time.
Wait until spring but start the year with a fresh battery.
Replace both FOB batteries at the same time.
Replaced the fob batteries when we bought the car this summer. I suspect that the battery, though old, sat disconnected and/or on a battery tender for most of it's life. The car had only been driven a couple of thousand miles in that time. We'll test it in the spring.
