Default Radiator support bracket.

I store my car on a lift in my shop and when I was inspecting things the other day I saw that my radiator support was broken. I want to fix this but I know its aluminum. Are there any alternatives made out of a stronger metal? I bought the car 2 years ago and I believe it was broke then but could not tell.

I haven't seen anyone talk about a different material over the years.

Suggest you also ask in the Tech Forum and Z06 Forum for max eyes.

There is sort of a DIY thread for replacement if you need it later. Good luck.

I recently replaced my radiator and found the bracket broken.
It was 20.00 to get it welded back.
I live in a very small town and the only place here is a welding supply business.

I think that is a better option than replacing the bracket.
Don't drive the car with a broken bracket or you will be buying a radiator, also.

I have the option of welding it too but its already pretty beat up from whoever else owned the car. Would rather just replace it.

If you buy a new one, take it to a welding shop before you install it and have them weld it up properly. The stock bracket has minimal welds. Beef up the new one while it is off the car

Mine was thrashed, too.

No one can see it and I don't care.
The new bracket is 200.00.
Spend the money on something worth while.

I don't think so, some of these might help, pictures and stuff, I also recall the "rivnut" questions coming up frequently.

No, the radiator hoses will provide enough support until you can bolt the new one in.

You may have to cut the left side bar to avoid disconnecting the air bag sensor.

The radiator stays in place just fine.
