I store my car on a lift in my shop and when I was inspecting things the other day I saw that my radiator support was broken. I want to fix this but I know its aluminum. Are there any alternatives made out of a stronger metal? I bought the car 2 years ago and I believe it was broke then but could not tell.
I recently replaced my radiator and found the bracket broken.
It was 20.00 to get it welded back.
I live in a very small town and the only place here is a welding supply business.
I think that is a better option than replacing the bracket.
Don't drive the car with a broken bracket or you will be buying a radiator, also.
If you buy a new one, take it to a welding shop before you install it and have them weld it up properly. The stock bracket has minimal welds. Beef up the new one while it is off the car
It is definitely a PITA...I think I remember dealing with wiring harnesses that were placed through the darn thing....had mind welded and I replaced it...Good luck!
