I know the quality of the Vette interiors has been a topic of considerable discussion over the years. I have no real heartburn with the design and materials in them. Was even happy with the one in my C5. But what puzzles me is why are the overwhelming majority of them I see offered for sale in both the new and used market all black? Other choices seem to be quite limited. And it's not just with the Vette.
Not opposed to those who like black. To each his own. But personally, I'm a fan of the light-colored 2 tone interiors. Particularly fond of a white, red, yellow or orange exterior with cashmere, and the silver, red or white exterior with titanium gray. It took me months to find my silver GS with the titanium gray. Try finding a yellow one with cashmere or white one with titanium gray. Good luck.
Just my observation, but I think the manufacturer's of sporty cars, like the Vette, Camaro, Mustang, etc should offer more of their spec cars with a greater variety of interior colors. When I do find them, they seem to sell pretty quick.
Black is the basic color for a C6 any other color is a option. Most C6s were produced with black interior for this reason.
Understood. I just think more of the dealer spec ones would be sold if they offered a bit of variety. Not everyone wants to wait on a factory ordered one for a different color option.
I have the 2 tone Black with Red and it goes great on my red car. I agree that all black would get boring. One of the reasons I love my Oyter interior on my c3 too, much less common.

That's a really nice combo IMO. Looks great with a black exterior as well. Heck, I'd even like it on a silver Vette, but don't think I've ever seen that.
I'm a Buckeye, so kind of partial to the Scarlet and Gray.
I bought used and wanted a Callaway, so you get what's available.
From what I've seen, even the cleanest people still get stains and blue jeans rubs on light color interiors.
I'm putting charcoal sheepskin covers on.
Ah, that makes sense. Agree the lighter color gray is susceptible to stains/discoloration. But in a convertible, I find them much cooler. Here is my solution to keeping them clean and cool.
I do find a lot of interiors that are black, but when I actually find a c6Z that is near me to possibly purchase; it has a red interior or an awful two tone black with white. The red interior is an absolute turn-off for me and can't stand it.
I like the lighter colored interiors because they do stay cooler in the Florida sun, but they are such a pain to keep looking clean and they show wear so much more than black.

I agree I was surprised to find out black was the only non option color available. When I purchased my Victory Red 08 I was going to settle for a black interior but the salesmen said no and found me a cashmere one and we worked a deal, other options also involved, so I paid no more than if it had been black, I was and still am very happy with it.

Funny how taste works. On a silver, black, or white Vette, I would MUCH prefer red. But then, I would much prefer cloth seats -- just try to find them on a decent car made in the last 10 years
It took me months to find a Monterey Red that didn't have a cashmere interior. I wanted black interior and it seems most of the dark red Corvettes were ordered with cashmere.
There's something to be said for a clean, all black interior in a performance car, especially if it is complimented by a classic analog gauge dash with the speedo and tach sharing center stage in front of the driver. Me likey my 1LT

I was bored with the all 'ebony' of my 2013 GS, so I added some red.
Stock ebony seat
Replaced inserts with red perforated leather. Also has the GS Logo embroidered on the headrest.
