I have a 2011 Grand Sport with 17,000 mi. The breaks squeak when stopping, but has shoe left. What are the best replacement breaks for normal city and highway use, with low residue output on the wheels.
Thank you in advence.
A few (3-5) good hard stops from around 100 to 20 and back to 100 again in quick succession, usually stops brake squeal. The occasional hard stop between race events, seems to keep mine from making any noise. I can't offer suggestions for dust issues, except clean the wheels as you feel it to be necessary. I prefer good performance over appearance, YMMV.
You completely missed the play on words that he inadvertently started while correcting the OP's spelling. Oh, and the ;P
I guess we can't have a sense of humor in the topical forums. Too bad.
Well, excuse me all to %$*& for writing "sharp", instead of "shop". For those who think I was NOT trying to do a service, I forgive your insolence, understanding that you know nothing about me.
I will delete the original post since it has offended so many people.

Please don't, It was meant in good fun. We all mistype things, and was only meant as a play on words.
I grew up in a family in which such word play was the highest form of fun, and this tickles my funny bone. I try not to point out other's typos or grammar errs, but I find it hard to resist a twist on words when others do so point out other's errors.

I read the now-deleted post a half-dozen times and never did get your point. Thus the "confused" smiley.
It could only be a little bit of foreign debris trapped between the pad and the rotor. My car squeaks a bit if I let it sit for a while then goes away after I drive it for a bit. Maybe a little rust accumulates on the rotors. You could remove the pads first and scuff them with sandpaper first and see if that helps. If your rotors are fairly worn and have grooves in them it could be the way the pad is contacting the outside of the wear pattern over time. Different compound materials in the pads can also affect this.
