I have had my '09 Victory Red coupe since last April. I love the look of the car. I was at the local HMO the other day for a blood draw and I managed to get the parking place right outside the entry. When I was leaving I was walking along behind an older man and, when the doors opened my Corvette was sitting alone and perfectly framed in the doorway. The old guy in front of me said, to no one in particular, "what a beautiful Corvette". To which I said "Thank you". He looked around and asked if it was my car. I said yes and he enthused that the C7 is an exciting looking car too, but he preferred the clean lines of the C6. I have to admit that I had just returned from the car wash and my Vette was looking its best, but I felt like a proud papa none the less.

That has happened to me also in the less than 2 months I've had mine. Part of that, of course, is having the correct color (be it Victory or Torch)

I get one for my 2012 Torch Red coupe every few months, from both middle-aged men and older men. Have received a couple from young ladies.

I was just being a little devilish about the color. We should all remain mindful that we are fortunate to be driving around a VERY Special Car

The best compliment I ever received was about ten years ago when a guy walked into a tree while looking over his shoulder at her.

I had a teenager just say, niiiiice...as if he was transfixed or something. Made my day! A guy in a new Audi sedan pulled up beside me at a light one day and just said, beautiful car...I have to agree, the C6 is gorgeous, especially the roadster.

Stopped at QT gas station in Denton, TX last night on the way home. Had 2 people come over to talk to me about my 07 C6. Both thought it was a lot newer. Neither believed I had 165,000 miles on it. Had to show one young man.

The other lady said she just sold her 50th anniversary convert and missed it. Told her to look for a C6 as they are much better.

I had a person once leave a note on my windshield saying my car was beautiful. I was in Denver a couple years ago and it was at night and raining as I was getting fuel a nice looking younger woman walked over from the other end of the fuel pumps and told me the GS was the most beautiful car she had ever seen........I always say thank you.........she hung around a bit talking it up..........it was kinda awkward after a while...........hey do you think she was hitting on me? Wow.....never thought of that.......hmmmm...........

Very cool. My wife was with me Saturday night, we were just killing time, crusing. Got several honks, thumbs up, waves.
She asked 'does this always happen?' I said 'pretty much'.
These are great cars to own.

I got sort of a "half azzed" compliment when I had my car out last time..I was sitting outside a Sheetz and a young girl about 10 years old coming out of the store , turned to he mother and said , "Look at that "old man" driving that pretty car!!...The mother says to the girl , that's a Corvette dear, it is pretty.............Who you calling an old man , punk??........WW

OP reminds me of the George Jones Corvette song;
The old man took my money
As he stared at my Corvette
He said, I had one just like her son,
A 1963
'Til the man down at the
Bank took her from me
Oh, She was hotter than a two dollar pistol
She was the fastest thing around
Long and lean, every young man's dream
She turned every head in town
She was built and fun to handles, son
I'm glad that you dropped in
She reminds me of the one I loved back then
Only in the song the old man is talking about the brunette that’s sitting in the vette. Your wife wasn’t sitting in your vette was she?
Girls can be a lot of fun too.

A great story RagTop.

One of the best I had was from a 6-7 year old boy while at Myrtle Beach last month. The Wifey had gone into the store while I waited outside in the beautiful sun shine. An SUV parked beside me, a moment later the rear window rolled down, and the young man ask "is that a Corvette". I said yes it is, and he went on to tell me how much he loved Corvettes. I told him if he likes he could sit in the car, but to ask his mother first. He did, and the smile on his face made my entire day. These type experiences always reminds me that we are the champions of America's only true sports car.

It never gets old.

Strangest one I ever got was about 10 years ago. Lady and her husband getting out of their sedan a few spots away as I exited my C4. Lady looks the car over for a second or two and says (I think sincerely, she seemed to like it) "Cute little car." Never thought of Vettes as particularly "cute" or "little."

But, it was a compliment...
