Hey bud, many here hate those covers. I have a VR with those calipers and the colour is a grey match. I even got the fake bolts and lettering painted black which looks great with my black C7 rims.
Powder coating is a better option but our rear matchbox size calipers are too small. They look like crap even with powdercoating. The covers atleast add some size to them. My plan is to get a Z06 brake kit next time around. So save your powdercoating $$ for a BBK and get the covers for now. They don't look all that bad IMO.

I'm thinking about getting the "painted to match" covers but the price has me wondering if the stock red would be close enough.

The front look great on your car, the back should have been designed the same as the front but a tad smaller and they would look great too.
Just paint your calipers. Easy to do and looks much better.
I painted mine a couple of years ago. It was very easy to do and they still look great. The most work was removing each wheel. I didn't have to remove the caliper itself.
I agree dude but because the rear calipers on the base are so small, the covers need to be small as well. I wish MGP made bigger rear covers with the correct clamp size.

I've got a set on my Victory Red coupe and they are virtually the same shade of red as the car. You wouldn't want to waste money on the painted to match product because it is the same color as the stock red ones. BTW, ignore all the hater comments about the covers leaving the car at high speed or trapping heat. If installed properly they're totally safe. I think the front ones are a little big visually, but I've had em on my Vette for about 8 mos. with no problems.
I like, they look good but I still say the back should have been designed exactly like the front. I understand the rear brakes are smaller but it looks like a red brick behind the wheel. they should have made it to fit snug over the brake with a little overhang, (that half moon shape) so that the rear design matched the front.

So corvette central has these for sale but cant tell if u get four matching covers, or if that's just the way they took the pic. But this is what I would want all four matching.

They are not four matching covers , u will get two large covers for the front and two smaller for the rear .
The clip system that they use slides under the very ends of the caliper in the space between the pads . This is why you can't use the larger front on the rear .
The clip is the secret as to why they will not fall off , overheat the caliper or destroy the earth as we know it lol
I agree but I still think the brick shaped rear covers look better than the matchbox size OEM calipers.

I bet there is a way to make them work simply by moving the clips on the rear, or perhaps some sort of clip adaptor.
