Default Rims/weights

I am just wondering how everyone deals with the inside of their rims when you get new tires ? The weights of course are always in a different place. I can't stand the mess it leaves removing the old ones. I had the inside of my rims painted and I think it took the paint off ! ??? Thanks

Brake degreaser and a plastic scraper will take all the old left-over goop off without damaging the finish.

Brake degreaser is too harsh. Use goop remover
, better yet 3M adhesive remover.

I use the 3M adhesive remover, and I remove the old weights the day before I take it in for new tires.

I really clean up my rims well, and that sets the tone for how I expect them to look when they are finished

WD-40

I clean the weight off also before I go in...
I take in a hand full of black stick-on weights because most shops have gray.

What do you all use to remove the weights?

Goo Gone. I'tll remove the old glue, along with tar or anything else that gets stuck on the barrels. Very little elbow grease required.

Just went thru this. I used a heat gun and that removed about half the mess. Then used adhesive remover and a plastic scraper. Go slow. No marks and all residue gone.
