What did you do to your C6 this weekend?

Is the accent on your wheels something you did? Did you buy it?

Melting Slicks
I picked those up at a SEMA show 11 years ago; waited to the end of the show and talked the vender out of them pretty cheap. They have 3M tape on the back side and went on pretty easily. The have held up and still look great given all the roads trips and miles I've put on it since installing them. I know Mid America Motorworks was selling them shortly after I picked mine up (a friend ordered a set from them); not sure if they still are or who else might be.

Just took these in my front yard; the sun was only out for a few minutes. Snow and sun at the same time is pretty unusual:
Ten minutes later, but as I post these the sun is back out:

Nothing. 71 degrees Friday; woke up to wind chill temps of 26 Saturday morning. Took a drive to the store and it started raining on the way home. Woke up to 33 degrees this morning, and it's supposed to be 84 by next Friday. Texas weather is more unpredictable than my ex-wife.

Cabin air filter was attacked by rodents at some point, hope they didn't chew on anything important. Also changed the power steering fluid just because. Did some general cleanup under the hood.

Fixed the issue that was causing the car to throw p0171 and p0174 codes. It was just the grommets on the airaid intake not being pushed in securely. Check engine light is gone now.

Went for a couple of mountain road rides today. 80 degrees (not hot, not cold) so the top was in the trunk. Drove around on Route 66 for a while but in SoCal, this is just another road. I hear it can be fun in other states but around here it is just a street with a lot of restaurants. Ate too much and now I am going to watch Paterno.

1st day when I bought the car, April 2014
April 2018
Before and after pics of OEM wheels.
I had my original wheels powder coated black and then had the faces machined.

Replaced the battery with an Interstate. For those that are working through a parasitic drain issue, here is another possibility I did not see in any of the researched threads I visited while trying to diagnose my starting issues. Here is what I did:
1) When it wouldn't start after 48 hours, jumped it and drive long enough for full charge, then checked that all lights in car were off (thought I might have hit the map light switch left of the steering wheel by accident). Left car for 48 hours, wouldn't start.
2) Jumped car and went to Autozone for battery/charging system check. Both checked out in the green with the full 600 CCA on the battery. 48 hours later, wouldn't start.
3) Jumped car and went to Batteries Plus who have a better meter. Same result.
4) Disconnected battery and put 10 amp meter between negative cable and negative battery post. Initially read 1.5 amps until all computers shut down and then settled at .025 amps (25 milliamps) which is a normal drain for these cars.
5) At this point, it started taking only 24 hours to not start. As the battery voltage was reading 9.5, I suspected it might be a bad cell that charges fine, but was dying faster and faster, so I drove the car to a full charge (about 40 miles) and disconnected the battery when I got home. The next morning, I put a meter on the battery before hooking it back up and it read 9.5. Bingo, bad cell in the battery.
The battery being roughly 2 volts down should have led me to a bad cell earlier (6 cell battery, 2 volts/cell), but I had read so many threads on parasitic drain on these cars, that I just didn't think it through properly.
Hope this helps someone down the line.
