A lot of hard headed people here that will learn the hard way.

Your right, people still run Goodyear F1's on their car because that what OEM tires were, does that make them hard headed?

I find non-RF tires a lot better on handling and comfort. A stiff suspension setup on a Camaro with non rf is not too far off from the harshness of a stock Z51 with run flats. That's how much harshness is introduced by the stiffer sidewalls.

On a long 5k mile road trip, with RF tires on my vette, I still drove with a hand jack and plug kit on hand. So my "peace of mind" is not quite up there with most people.

Since I have 2 cars and brought both to track lapping, I find the RF tires (GY, Firestone Wide Oval RF, and my current Bridgestone Potenza RF) all have a VERY nasty trait with relation to their edge of grip profiles. They grip to the edge of their limits and release very quickly which can be challenging when trying to prevent spin outs. It gives a false sense of confidence on that edge line.

With my car with non runflats, the transition from traction to non traction is a lot slower relatively speaking. There's a lot of communication from the tires in terms of noise and gradual wheel slip that allows me to react to it and even use it to my advantage to induce some drifting.

Just took the 05 out for the first time on TSW's and Firestone RF. At 28k the Goodyears' were gawd awful. Firestone RF's are so much quieter. My vette is a cruiser only, so I'm very satisfied with the improvement.

Hate is such a strong word.......I would prefer to run a nice cushy tire but out here in the boonies its a long wait for a tow truck if I couldn't get the flat fixed in the rain....at midnight....between Thedford and Mullen on Highway 2.......that and the B-Stone Potenzas RFT's ride nice......just don't want to have to worry about it.......

I have not had anything except the michelin runflats and they run perfectly fine. They are not noisy and the ride is just fine. I do here a lot of complaints on the forum though.
