Default Throttle controllers

I just wondered if anyone has tried the throttle controllers found on eBay. I have a 2005 base and I notice that they plan on having one available soon for it. They have "TBA" beside the 2005 Corvette model. I have been in contact with Ahmed from Vitesse for several months and he promises one soon, also.

I've read probably every post. I know there is not one available. I have been in contact with Ahmed from Vitesse several times and I am aware that he is working on one for the 2005. I just asking if anyone has tried the controllers on eBay. They obviously have a controller for the 2005 year in the works, also.

There are a few on EBAY , are you looking at a specific one ?

There are a couple that look like Vitesse clones

Don't even think about any other throttle controller. Just go to Chuck at Corvettes of Westchester. His Cow booster works and will put a big smile on your face.

All these things do is change the response curve of the pedal which you can do with your foot. They can not change the 0 or 100% position so can have no effect on the engine performance. All they do is make it seem like you aren't pushing the pedal down very far when you are and then pushing it very far as you approach the end. You cruise around with a tame car that becomes very aggressive if you push down all the way. You get used to the idea you have far less power than you actually do and then discover you have more than you thought when you really want it. It's all in your head and doing nothing your couldn't do with your foot.

I understand the need to use Chucks product for a 2005 but for other years ....

If you like the way he sets it then you are fine , the Vitesse gives you the ability to tailor it to your driving style , driving around town , I set it to SP9 , at the track I set it to SP0 , nothing against chucks product but you can't do that with a Cow Booster

You need to try one to understand why so many people like it .........its not just about your foot , especially to those if us who have automatics ..

I get it if you don't think it's for you but there are a LOT of people who bought one and absolutely love the adjustability to suit their style

Maybe it's because I'm old and don't have the same muscle control as I did 60 years ago, but having the electronic ability to retard the rate of opening for a smoother spin-free launch would be an advantage. On a slippery track, I could choose a setting that's the equivalent of rolling into the throttle by just stabbing the pedal and letting the controller do it for me.
I really don't care about the plus settings.

Maybe if you have limited muscle control but otherwise, the placebo effect is a marvelous thing.

Do you have one, or have you have driven one with a controller? If not, it may be unwise to make such a bold statement. The difference is not simply a state of mind.

Well said airmed2. There is always one who critiques something just to be heard without any facts or personal experience.

My Personal experience! Had a Vitesse installed. Worked ok for a while. Then caused uncontrolled increase in RPM to the point of 5000 plus RPM at start up. Thank God I have a standard Tranny. Pushed in clutch and shut off engine. Had it removed. In a box. I was told by all the experts on this forum that it needed to be recalibrated. Had it reinstalled and recalibrated. Still had bouts of uncontrolled acceleration. Scary. I was also told that it could not be a faulty unit. From the Vendor I was told my throttle was messed up or some such foolishness. Never threw a code without Vitesse installed. Never threw another code after unit removed. Back in a box. Waste of money and dangerous. In my humble opinion.

I would never add a cheap device that messes with the ecm or pcm.

Well, I started this thread, so I thought I'd better step in to say that I solved the problem of not being able to find a controller for my '05.
I bought an '06 Z06 with 11,500 miles on the clock.
Problem solved.
