I just installed a new Delco battery a few weeks ago and am going out of town for all of next week. Would you still use the tender even though it's a new battery?

For a week in our warm weather with a new battery? Unnecessary- only if you have aftermarket stuff that has created a parasitic drain.

Unnecessary? Probably. Will it start? Probably. But why subject the battery to a drain and charge scenario when you can plug in a tender and keep it topped off?
Just askin...
It's not necessary to use a tender under those conditions, but batteries kept on a tender when parked; seem to last longer.
Our car will go two weeks or more without a tender and still start just fine, but my personal rule is to use a tender for anything over one week. Being nice to your battery will help it be nice to you.
Your battery will last much longer if you keep a tender on it. I just purchased a Delran tender plus. Love it! It's a breeze to hook up and a nice peace of mind.
Add another yes...and look at it this way, if you don't get one, jump in the car one day and it's dead, you'll say I should have bought that tender, if you buy a tender and use it, that won't happen, and if it does, you know you need a new battery anyway...

I have used this model for many years. I too have a new Delco battery and live in Florida but still use the tender. It will last longer
I have used tenders for years and usually get 7 years out of a battery. I have magnetic quick disconnects on my cars and they are always on tenders. Keeping the battery at optimum charge is not necessary but in my garage it seems to add a significant amount of life to my batteries.
